Stopped in for a few cocktails after dining next door at Lascarola which was fabulous and asked the bartender for a cocktail. Looked at me in the face, did not respond and walked away. Absolutely horrible service. Would not recommend anybody to go to this Smoke-Filled environment. Great bar right across the street. Good service. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
I cut my hand breaking a glass and I received some of the most affective medical care from the bartender. He had blood clotting spray at the ready, and got my taped up before I ubered to the ER. The ER nurse asked if I’d been treated before coming in I ended up with 6 stitches and I have no doubt I would have needed amputation if not for their impeccable care. I love you, Richard’s. Price per person: $1–10
Richard's bar is a true old school dive. The bartender is attentive and makes a great drink. They give an authentic old Chicago bar experience it would be hard to find anywhere. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30
This dive bar allows smoking cigars and cigarettes indoors, so expect to leave smelling like smoke due to the inadequate air filtration. The beers are surprisingly not very cold, which makes me wonder if they need to upgrade their fridge. On the plus side, the prices are very reasonable. The bar staff is particularly friendly towards women. Parking can be a hassle, so be sure to feed the meter if you arrive early. The gambling machines seem to be popular and keep the patrons entertained.
Great bar , reminds me of the bars in the 1950's . Prices are much lower than other bars but top shelf liquors, juke box full of classic tunes, bartender was very friendly, like I remembered from my early days of visiting bars . Plus the hours of business are outstanding. You must visit it to appreciate how a true drinking establishment should be run. No food served its just a true example of a real bar.
