The service was slow a... read more I have been to Proxi several times before and always left with a positive feeling. However, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. The service was slow and not up to the standards I had experienced on previous visits, and the food and ambiance were lacking as well. The overall vibe was just off. I felt let down—perhaps it was just a bad night for them. However, I likely won’t make an effort to return as I have in the past.

She only visited our table a couple of times, while others attended to our food and water needs. Instead of appearing professional, she acted more like a cheerleader, forcing a smile and struggling to connect with the guests in a meaningful way, especially considering the upscale nature of the dining experience. It felt quite strange. Unfortunately, despite enjoying the food and initially liking the ambiance, the service interactions left us feeling uncomfortable and unenthusiastic about staying for another glass of wine or truly settling in to enjoy our meal. Overall, it was an awkward and disappointing experience.

The variety of dishes in each course was both delightful and delicious. Our server, Ivan, recognized us from our previous visits even before we arrived, which made our evening all the more enjoyable. Ivan was exceptionally knowledgeable, providing insights about each dish and the wine pairings. It was evident that he truly loves his work, which added a special touch to our experience. We want to extend our gratitude to the entire Proxi team for a wonderful evening!

Of everything we ordered about 6 dishes to share among 4 people only one did not exceed expectations (grilled prawns... strange flavor combos). Service is professional and friendly and wines are reasonably priced. Loved returning here and I'll be back!

Service was helpful, friendly and personable. If we lived in Chicago, we would dine here once a week, I am sure!
