I was seated quickly, and my food arrived shortly after I placed my order. The staff were incredibly kind; they even brought out a small dessert with a "Happy Anniversary" decoration to help me celebrate my special occasion. I couldn’t be happier with my experience—definitely a 10/10! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pizzeria Portofino:
Horrible customer service front desk and people that walked us to our table were very discriminating and didn't make us a priority as much as other customers. Never coming back. Waiter was extremely nice View all feedback.
The location cannot be beat ? it costs $10 extra to sit near the water though (well worth it). Surprisingly the ambiance and decoration was even nicer than RPM Seafood right upstairs. The food was pretty good and vegetarian friendly ? we had the mushroom truffle pizza which I liked. Overall I?d recommend for a non offensive Italian dinner if you want a great ambiance.
I took my partner to this restaurant on Sunday the 13th to celebrate an early Valentine's Day, and it was absolutely delicious. We began with the truffle fondue, which was bursting with flavor. The pasta with vodka sauce was creamy and smooth, and the addition of burrata and basil made it light and delightful. The Fresca pizza was fantastic—light, refreshing, and with a perfectly crispy crust. Overall, the entire meal was incredible. To top it all off, the view was stunning! I highly recommend this place. It truly was a night to remember.
The tartare and fries were enjoyable starters. The pizza, while good in a wood-fired style, didn't stand out as exceptional. For me, the cocktails and appetizers were definitely the highlights of the meal. Our server was very friendly, and there seemed to be plenty of staff around to assist. The riverside location is lovely, and the enclosed outdoor area feels cozy during the winter.
Absolutely fantastic location, right on the water's edge of Chicago River looking across to the River walk. Went for an early dinner on our last day in Chicago and had reserved a table the night before on the balcony. Although they charge $11 for the table which doesn't come off the bill, it was worth it. The pizza was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Service was standard and on power with what you would expect. Would recommend
The menu is delightful and very accommodating for vegetarians, complemented by beautiful views of the riverwalk. It was somewhat loud and lively on Friday, which made it a bit less intimate for a date night, but the overall atmosphere was cozy. The service was excellent! I highly recommend trying one of the dishes featuring black truffles.
