Reviews - Phở Năm Lúa
Reviews summary
At this family-run Vietnamese spot the pho is widely praised for rich, authentic broth, generous portions and vegan options, while traditional decor and quick service at times create a warmly authentic atmosphere. However, inconsistent service, occasional shortages of herbs or ingredients, payment quirks, and iced-coffee/portion issues leave some patrons wary. Reasonably priced and kid-friendly, the restaurant delights many but needs tighter quality control and more responsive staff to fully match its flavorful food.

This is a very welcoming, family-owned restaurant that serves generous portions and offers several vegan options. It's been recommended by Steve Dolinsky, which guarantees its quality! The photo showcases the "Vegetarian Soup." Overall, I give the food a rating of 5 out of 5. View all feedback.
What Inae Lee dislikes about Phở Năm Lúa:
They've changed! Perhaps there's a new chef? We've been loyal customers since they opened and never considered going anywhere else for pho because their broth was exceptional and the portions were generous. However, our recent visits have all been disappointing, with dishes being overly salty, noodles overcooked, and the service lacking. It's really sad, but now we need to look for a new place. Delicious pho with excellent flavor! The portions are generous, and the prices are quite reasonable. A hidden gem!
The food is delicious. I love bringing friends here to let them experience a new place. They always leave happy and well fed. The Pho is some of the best I have ever eaten.

The restaurant needs to improve their customer service, especially on weekend nights. If the staff is tired and just going through the motions for a paycheck, it shows. They should reconsider how they treat customers who arrive just an hour before closing. There's no need to be rude to patrons. It’s a family-run business, and while it's understandable that some younger staff members may be feeling overwhelmed, it shouldn't affect how they interact with customers. When we entered one hour before closing, the young female manager rudely informed us that they were closing soon.
First of all, pho was delicious and the ox tail added a nice twist to it. That being said, the service was just terrible. We tried to ignore some things like a disgusting hair coming out of our bowl, but the service is just bad. Only one person spoke English which made it hard to make customizations to your order and even though we were there around 7:40 pm, they didn’t have cilantro, green onion and meatballs, but they still charged the full price even though the pho was missing some key ingred … – show
No water, no napkins, no fish sauce… Very few menu items are authentic vietnamese dishes. Food is kinda bland.
