We lost a neighborhood gem, and the... read more Gioco was our favorite restaurant in the South Loop. Unfortunately, last night was their final night and the place was full. We lost a neighborhood gem, and the staff lost a place they deeply cared about. It's a very sad situation. The owner and landlord should be ashamed that such a wonderful place had to close its doors after all these years. Despite running out of items on the menu, they pulled out all the stops on their last night. My risotto with filet of pork and spinach was out of this world. Gioco, you will be greatly missed.

It was disheartening to learn that today was the last day of operation, as this restaurant was a fantastic place to enjoy a meal.
