Great price-value ratio here. This is a really nice neighborhood diving bar with great burgers and affordable drinks. I recommend buying pitchers of beer/bottles wine when you are looking for more bang for your Buck. Burgers are also quite decent here. View all feedback.
What Elle S doesn't like about Moody's:
Extremely rude employee screamed NO DOGS WHEN WE SIMPLY ASKED IF THEY ALLOWD DOGS ON THE PATIO. You are losing a lot of business by not allowing dogs on the patio. Also I have been going to Moodys since before that SASSY CREATURE was born. View all feedback.
The menu boasts about serving the "Best Burgers in Chicago since 1959," but that may have been true 35 years ago. The burgers we had were forgettable, and the fries were hard, thin scraps that were not appetizing at all. Our server was too busy on her cellphone to check on us or see if we needed anything during our meal. While the outdoor garden might offer a nicer ambiance, it doesn't make up for the mediocre food. You can find better meals and dining experiences anywhere else. Relying on past glory for decades just isn't going to cut it anymore. It might be time to turn off the lights and close the doors. Actually, there’s no need to lock up; there’s nothing inside worth saving!
We returned to Moody's after being away for about seven years, and it was refreshing to see that not much had changed—in a very positive way. It's the perfect "hole in the wall" neighborhood pub. The food and beer are fantastic! Isaac was an outstanding server; he was attentive without being intrusive and allowed us the space to relax and enjoy ourselves. He even set a timer on his phone to check on us after we mentioned we wanted to savor our pitcher of beer before placing our order. Overall, he made us feel right at home. Kudos to Moody's for having him on the team. Thank you, Isaac! This guy deserves a raise!
This restaurant is a true classic! During warm weather, you can enjoy your meal in a charming courtyard surrounded by mature trees. In an era where a single location in Chicago can witness three different businesses opening and closing in just one year, this place has remained a staple for decades. While some may not appreciate its consistency and prefer to chase trends, it certainly appeals to those who value the comfort of familiarity. The interior is rather dark and unremarkable, but whether you dine indoors or outdoors, you will always receive friendly service and delicious burgers. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a go!
Their burgers are wonderful. They even have chicken, turkey, and veggie burgers. It is a limited menu, but it is all well made. Beer selection is pretty good and cocktails are okay. But you wouldn't expect a burger bar to have the best margarita. Greatatmosphere to spend time with friends and drink a few rounds, but sometimes the interior can be very hot in summer so if you'resensitive to that, keep it in mind.
"The indoor fire pits create a cozy atmosphere at this burger pub! The menu is simple, featuring delicious burgers cooked to order, and the cheese sticks are fast and incredibly tasty. They also offer a great selection of beers available by the pint or pitcher. The outdoor area is beautiful in the summer, with a lovely brick patio and trees. It’s a converted building that’s perfect for dates, events, families, or a night out with friends. The service is always smooth, respectful, and pleasant. You can’t help but feel good here. Moodies sets the perfect vibe for a fun evening. Don’t forget to mention that Badmonkeyking sent you!"
