Was Andrew at Maple Ash a mag?
Overall it was a nice place and I would go back. A couple of comments…It was a tad too loud to have a normal conversation. We were sat in the highest traffic spot in the entire restaurant and everyone kept walking back and forth between the bar and restaurant. Food and service were great. View all feedback.
What Abelardo Hane dislikes about Maple Ash:
At a time, this restaurant was a unique and special culinary experience. Today it rushes through your meal to get the next group to your table. The whole meal felt rushed and got my bill with my desert. View all feedback.

It was my first time here and everything was great. We made reservations and were seated timely. The food was great. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes, but it was okay. I would go back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We had the pleasure of being served by Javie, he was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, he made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. His attention to detail, menu knowledge, and recommendations were spot on. He checked in on us the perfect amount and made our whole dining experience feel elevated and special. If you go to Maple Ash, definitely ask for Javie!! you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for such great service! You’re the reason we keep coming back for special occasions or even a last minute dinner reservation! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My friends had been raving about Maple and Ash, and on my recent trip to Chicago, I finally had the opportunity to experience it for myself. It exceeded every expectation. From the seafood tower and wagyu beef carpaccio to the decadent OMG, Pillows of Love pasta, the perfectly prepared tomahawk steak, and that unforgettable apple pastry, each course was a masterpiece worth savoring. The meal was indulgent, celebratory, and absolutely worthy of the hype. Compliments to the Chef for an exceptional culinary experience. What truly distinguished the evening, however, was our server, John David. Beyond impeccable service, he offered something rarer: authentic connection. In an era where kindness can feel scarce, his stood out in the most meaningful way. He was attentive, intuitive, charismatic, and effortlessly fun, but more than that, he was a genuine and gracious host. He elevated our evening from excellent to unforgettable. Request John David, and let him curate your experience. You will not regret it. I can’t wait to return! Beautiful place very welcoming staff. Food was very good. I would definitely go back and recommend others to visit.
A beautiful restaurant… A must when visiting Chicago . Excited you will be Miami opening in Miami (where I live) Food exceptional, ambience and decor gorgeous, service impeccable… thanks to the fact that we had the pleasure of having Sandra serve us. She made our dining experience absolutely perfect! The entire team is extremely professional and polite as well . Ten stars ! Thank you !
From having to wait almost 40 minutes, even with the reservation was absurd. The food was a zero out of 10 did not like the cut of meat and the food was. Our server Alex, she made the experience nice but I will not return back because the food wasn’t good and the long wait time.
Great dinner. Excellent professional service. Servers like this are rare and greatly appreciated. We did four courses with apps, salad, entree and dessert. Dry aged tomahawk was perfection and plentiful for three of us. Sundae dessert topped off a really excellent meal. Looking forward to the Miami location opening.

Gorgeous setting in the upstairs dining room, staff was welcoming and attentive, service was impeccable, and food was thoughtfully prepared and flavorful, although everything was very rich. Steaks were excellent. This is not a place for counting calories or paying attention to your cholesterol. Or for watching your pennies. My only reservation about recommending it is that (on a Wednesday at 6pm) the music was extremely loud and jarring, making it sound more like a club than a fine dining restaurant. This really dampened my enjoyment of the dining experience. I noticed that the tables downstairs in the bar were a bit quieter, so that's where I would book on a second visit.
Fantastic food and service as always! We especially love the “I Don't Give A F” tasting menu because it's a great value for such an incredible amount of food. This way we always get to try and love things we may not have ordered otherwise. Our favorites were the seafood tower, tuna tartare, meatballs, agnolotti, strip steak with beefed up butter, lobster mac and cheese and the chocolate cake. We'll be back!
A birthday dinner for my son. An enjoyable appetizer and drink downstairs with Dante was lovely. Upstairs we were seated next to the kitchen. Very loud but not nearly as the table of obnoxious women 10 feet away. The only saving grace was John David. I thought that by using open table and my past bookings I would not be seated next to kitchen doors anymore. I was wrong. Won't be coming back.
This restaurant is a gem! From the pomegranate martini taster to begin the experience, I knew we were in for a special evening. This was followed by an amuse bouche of house made potato chips served with onion dip topped with caviar. I ordered the French onion soup to start our meal. The base was perfectly seasoned with the proper amount of onions. For our entrees, my wife enjoyed the salmon, while I dined on the veal chop with sweetbreads. I am not a sweetbreads guy, however, I did try them. Of our entrees, the veal chop was the most outstanding. For sides, we ordered the spinach, and the mushrooms. Both were exceptional interpretations of those items. Maple Ash has been around for eight years, and it is just around the corner from tourist trap, Gibsons. If you can only go to one of these steak heavy houses, do Maple Ash! The ambience, service, total experience will blow you away. I promise!
Maple and Ash is by far one of my favorite restaurant here in Chicago. I love the hospitality from the time you walk in until the the you leave. I love how knowledgeable the waiters are about the menu and drink selections. The fire roasted seafood tower is to die for seriously!! Overall amazing restaurant.

My score is an unfortunate ding on a great establishment because of our server. This place has delicious food, an incredible atmosphere, and phenomenal drinks. The music is a little loud, but it felt right considering the younger, hip crowd. Our server was bullish, recommended an old fashioned that was nearly $40 (if a bourbon is that good, i wouldnt ruin it with ice and simple syrup), and made a borderline misogynistic comment regarding our decision to pass on dessert. I didn't let him ruin the night, but I wasn't thrilled with his service. We could've flown to New Orleans and eaten at the Napoleon House for the same price as our dinner. Go to Maple and Ash. It's a cool experience, but if you see a waiter that looks like William Forsythe in Out For Justice... beware!
Overall pretty satisfied. I would recommend trying maple and ash out. Very good experience. If we do come back, we will probably just have the oysters/steak/side. Food: 4 stars Did the IDGAF for my wife and I. Worth it for the experience, but could be better. Value wasn't there for me. Still plenty of food, and an over abundance of flavor with every course. Give it a try. Atmosphere: 4 stars Intimate to a certain point. I think it's more structured for a group of people, not really a date night atmosphere. I found myself yelling over the background noise Service: 5 stars From the entrance everyone was attentive. Our server was great, and everyone in the support staff.
Came here for my 21st birthday and it was the best birthday i ever had. service was incredible. food/drinks were insanely amazing. filet mignon was a GREAT choice but the sushi all the different cuts of steak dessert was great too. you literally cannot go wrong here. so good. thank you maple ash for helping me celebrate my 21st!!

This restaurant is more than food, it’s an experience! The service was amazing. Upon arrival we received a complimentary drink and caviar dip w/ house made chips. First time trying caviar and for it to be an expensive one for free was a bonus. We also tried the stuffed meatballs which were tasty as well. For dinner we indulged in lamp chops, bone marrow stuffing, sweet potatoes, steak, spinach, mashed potatoes. All so delectable and filling as the sides are meant for sharing. We ended off with an apple crisp pie and ice cream. Not too sweet but just right. It’s a good place to celebrate events! We also had 2 great mixed drinks with slogans on the straws.
I don't even have words to describe how amazing my experience was at Maple and Ash. Lauren made sure I was well taken care of and the food was INCREDIBLE. I don't regret one single bite of what I ordered. (Which was possibly everything on the menu). Treat yourself to a once in a lifetime dining experience. You won't regret it. Worth the wait, worth the calories and worth every dollar spent.
Maple Ash is the favorite and offers some of the best dishes in not only the Gold Coast, but the entire city. Both formal dining upstairs and 8 Bar downstairs are sure to impress. I've never had a dish here that didn't leave me amazed and the atmosphere is incredible. Servers are always on-point, friendly and give great recommendations.

Maple ash is the favorite and offers some of the best dishes in not only the gold coast, but the entire city. both formal restaurants in the upper floor and 8 bar below are safe to impress. I never had a court here that didn't leave me amazed and the atmosphere is incredible. server are always on-point, friendly and give great recommendations.
Our reservation was for a birthday and it was at 9. We haven't taken place until 9:45. But that was okay because dinner and the overall experience was far beyond our expectations. While we waited for our table, we sat at the bar and the drinks and service were excellent. Once we have our table, the server was very friendly, like everyone who served us. Eating was amazing that we made the choice of cook and it was good worth it. An unforgettable experience and the birthday girl were happy. 10/10.

We wanted to enjoy this night when we celebrated a birthday, but when we eat our Pro seafood tower, we discovered red hair in it. Kellner offered us 15% discount and no fee for pasta back. Unsatisfied with it, but overall everything tasted great. It was our first stop for the night, but it really put a damper on it.
