What Alessandro Barbaccia doesn't like about Lil' Ba-ba-reeba!:
Nice cozy place, perfect to enjoy tapas. Service and location is great like the previous Bar Ramone. Tapas, I think are a little less good than before, too much spicy food (looks more Mexican than Spanish). Menu very limited. Interesting. View all feedback.
My wife and I frequent Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba often, especially when we have guests from out of town or plans downtown. Our recent visit to Lil Ba-Ba-Reeba was just as amazing as we have come to expect. The food was delicious as always. Our server, Madeline S, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She listened to our choices and made some helpful suggestions to ensure we didn't fill up too quickly. We tried a variety of dishes including garlic shrimp, shishito peppers, devilled eggs, beef tenderloin toro skewer, potatoes bravas, and hen of the woods mushroom. We also enjoyed the Basque Cheesecake, which was light and had a hint of citrus. We washed it all down with a pitcher of red wine sangria and an espresso martini - both highly recommended. Overall, it was a fantastic dinner with prompt and friendly service. The food was served at a good pace and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling rushed. We were very impressed, especially during the busy restaurant week. We highly recommend visiting one of their two locations!
I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. Madeline was an exceptional waitress, attending to our every need. The ambience is perfect for socializing with friends over drinks. It's definitely one of our top choices. They were also very conscientious about accommodating dietary restrictions and checking for any allergies.
Disappointing restaurant week service.I have been to Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba previously, but left super disappointed with the service after visiting during restaurant week.-My friend and I had a reservation for 7 but we weren't seated until 7:30, as we were told that tables weren't available yet. In order to compensate for making us wait, it would have been appropriate for Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba to offer us a drink on the house, but they didn't.-After we were seated, it took forever to place an order with a server. I tried to make eye contact with the man who told us we had to wait a half hour, but this was impossible because he was too busy on his phone. He passed by our table several times while playing on his phone, ignoring us.-In the reservation, I mentioned it was my friend's birthday and the restaurant did nothing with this info. It would have been appreciated if they could bring out dessert with a candle in the very least.-On the bill, I added my Lettuce Eats code to earn points for this dining experience and after checking my balance, I can see that Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba didn't actually credit my account.I certainly don't plan on returning anytime soon.
I really enjoy this restaurant, but I recommend checking the menu beforehand to make sure they have all your favorite dishes. If not, you may want to consider visiting their Lincoln Park location. The restaurant is smaller in size and the menu is more limited. However, the food and Sangria they offer is delicious, and I especially love the outdoor seating area.
Quick service, delicious food, cozy restaurant. My husband and I agreed we would definitely be going back!
