Liberation Kitchen - Chicago
Liberation Kitchen
Description
Nestled outdoors with a casual vibe, this restaurant has garnered a mix of opinions. Guests rave about the flavorful kale salad, gochujang bowl, and indulgent bacon mac and cheese, alongside delightful donuts for dessert. However, some criticize the mediocre service and inconsistent food quality, with certain dishes perceived as overpriced or overly salty. Dedicated patrons appreciate the friendly atmosphere and fresh, vegan-friendly options but express concern over recent changes to popular dishes. Despite varied experiences, many agree that the restaurant's potential, especially for those enjoying plant-based cuisine, keeps them coming back for more.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! As soon as I walk in, the team greets me warmly and they are genuinely happy to see me. I have tried a variety of dishes from their menu and each one has been delicious and satisfying. The nachos, bacon Mac and cheese, and donuts are particularly tasty and the flavors are just perfect. I have never been disappointed and I am always happy to support this place. Highly recommend it!
Friendly service and helpful cashier/chef. Low key atmosphere with some great options for vegan snacks. Delicious bacon Mac and cheese made with seitan meat. It smelled just like real bacon and tasted like it too. Vegan donut was scrumptious and organic apple juice was refreshing too. I was disappointed with the uptown dog…it was super salty so it wasn’t easy to consume. However, the friendly service and delicious snacks made up for it.
We moved out of chicago a year ago and I miss this place. The togarashi bowl on their menu is excellent. I am not a big fan of faux meats. Even though thats what uptons does primarily, their togarashi bowl keeps me coming back here. That and their vegan soft serve icecream. Every component of the togarashi bowl is so tasty, even my 2 year old used to love it. Highly recommend.
