Was Kyle Bistline at Laschet's Inn a mag?
This German restaurant is everything you could desire. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, featuring comfortable lighting and spacious tables. Even though it’s quite large, the place was lively enough on a Wednesday to create a wonderful vibe. Our waitress was full of personality and professionalism—truly a gem! The food certainly matched the rave reviews. I was thrilled to visit when the jägerschnitzel was on speci... View all feedback.

What Janet Lang dislikes about Laschet's Inn:
I'm really looking forward to my next visit! I've grown used to restaurants that don't have the dishes I crave and staff who aren't very welcoming. However, Laschet's Inn was a delightful surprise. Instead of being told they didn’t have what I wanted, they had everything! The staff were incredibly patient and answered all our questions. Although I've lived in Chicago my whole life, I had never tried smelt until I vis... View all feedback.

This place is a gem! The food is (chef's kiss), is phenomenal. The staff and especially the owner, great people. So much more on the menu I want to try. Beer selection absolutely goes well with everything I've had so far.So long as the place is there, it's going on my permanent recommendation list for German cuisine in Chicago.

We had a wonderful meal, good cocktails, and enjoyed them with a friendly staff.

I've visited Laschet's for over 30yrs. I drank there when it was owned by Herr Karl Laschet. I enjoyed Ursula's food for the years the Kokott family owned the restaurant. I ate just about every dish they had on the menu the Rouladen was my fav, even when compared to my own mother's recipe. Tonight I dined there with 3 friends, celebrating a birthday. The service was good, I was very disappointed in the food. The Wiener Schnitzel and the potato pancakes were greasy and over fried. The rouladen meat completely fell apart and did not taste right to those at our table who have eaten the dish many times. The bacon and pickle was undetectable. The goulash soup was once a favorite. While the meat is tender tasty, we found the soup much too spicy to finish after one bite. Despite the entrees being unsatisfactory, the roasted potatoes, spätzle and red cabbage were delicious! The Hackepeter and soft pretzel are very good. Don't order the cheese sauce for the pretzel, it's a weird texture, verrrry oniony and overpriced $15 for a pretzel with cheese? . We were charged extra for every little thing, an extra apple sauce and sour cream for a table of 4 for our potato pancakes and gravy with the Wiener Schnitzel, etc. No one likes to be nickel dimed at a restaurant. What happened to the traditional complimentary dessert shot? I will end this on a good note by saying the staff was very nice, the music and atmosphere is pleasant, the Hackepeter and beer was good. I will need to look elsewhere for authentic, delicious German food in the future. I may come back for the Hakepeter and beer with a side of red cabbage and spätzle.

If you want to drink good German beer, this is an awesome place. If you want to eat good German food, avoid at all costs. The food is quite mediocre and is downright criminal for the price.
