**Restaurant Review: Lady Gregory's – A Mixed Bag of Delights and Disappointments** Nestled in Andersonville, Lady Gregory's presents a rich menu spotlighting burgers and inventive dishes like the Roasted Beet Salad and Ultimate Grilled Cheese. Patrons rave about the food, particularly the pot pie, though many express frustration with the bar and table service, often slow and inattentive amidst the hustle. The lively atmosphere, enhanced by an eclectic playlist, caters to lively gatherings, but the noise can be overwhelming. While outdoor seating is a pleasant escape, higher prices may deter budget-conscious diners. Despite uneven service experiences, the culinary offerings keep diners returning for more.
Lady Gregory's is a great Irish pub with an extensive whiskey selection and the ultimate comfort food. Situated right on Clark in the cute northside neighborhood of Andersonville, Lady Gregory's is about a ten minute walk from the red line Berwyn stop. But it's totally worth it. <br/ <br/ Hands down, the star of the menu IMO is the Cold Water Lobster Mac Cheese. This is no ordinary mac cheese and comes loaded with mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheese. And did I mention lobster? The lobster pieces were huge and made this $18 dish worth every penny. It also comes out in a skillet style dish and is probably enough for two normal people to share, but of course, I indulged in this decadent dish all by myself. <br/ <br/ My husband had another comfort food favorite: the Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Bacon and a cup of tomato basil soup. The grilled cheese was a combination of gruyere, white cheddar, mozzarella, and brie cheese and came out piping hot and oozing cheesiness. Along with candied bacon, the sandwich had roasted tomato concassé and fried shallots, which helped to class it up a notch. The tomato soup was the perfect dipping companion.
My fish and chips were good, as was my friend's rueben sandwich. Pleasant server and tastefully decorated restaurant. All made for a nice lunch.
This restaurant is a local favorite located in the vibrant Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. It features a lovely interior with an Irish touch and offers plenty of outdoor seating during the warmer months. In my experience, the staff has always been friendly and attentive, and the food is reliably delicious. I recently visited for brunch, where we started with wings as an appetizer, followed by the breakfast burger (served without a bun) and a chopped salad, all of which were excellent. The **** Marys were also quite enjoyable. This establishment is open daily for lunch and dinner, and it consistently delivers a great dining experience.
The vibe and the foods were good. The grilled cheese was fantastic, with the perfect crisp from the bacon, some sweetness from the jam and abundant cheese over the whole thing. Shepherds pie is delicious too with the melted cheese over smash potatoes.Skillet cookie and ice cream was the highlight for this meal as the cookie is just so good. However, they require a 2.9%transaction fee if you’re using a card, so consider paying with cash.
Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately. The menu is accessed via QR code and unfortunately both my friend and I had a poor connection. Physical menus would be nice. My friend got the Irish hush puppies and loved them. Grilled cheese and Blackened Chicken Club were both very good. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. We didn't drink but there is a full bar and an excellent drink menu. Only down side was the high prices. Would definitely visit again though!
