La Quebrada - Chicago
La Quebrada
Description
This restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences, with some patrons praising the delicious food and attentive service, while others recount frustrating visits marked by forgotten orders and inadequate portions. The ambiance leans towards traditional Mexican flair, catering primarily to those seeking flavorful dishes. Despite an impressive menu featuring seafood and authentic flavors, inconsistencies in service and drink quality, particularly with coffee, leave some guests disappointed. For those willing to navigate potential service hiccups, takeout may be a preferable option.

I was disappointed with my experience. I ordered an asada burrito, and it didn't taste very good; it was bland and had very little meat. I also got some guacamole, which was similarly bland and had large chunks in it.
I'm very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. It was our first visit, and the food portions were quite small considering the prices. To top it off, there was a service charge for paying by credit card, and gratuity was already included. Our group only had five people. Food rating: 1/5.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant during my second visit. Our order was completely forgotten, and we waited over 30 minutes without receiving our food. In that time, six other tables were served while we sat there empty-handed. When we approached the staff to speak with a manager, a waiter came over without offering an apology and simply said they had forgotten our order. I won't be returning to this place; we didn’t even end up eating anything. They really need to have a manager on-site to handle these issues.
The food was good, the service was bad, the coffee is disappointing because they have a very well stocked and flashy bar. When we mentioned to the staff the coffee was watered down they did nothing about it. It was hard getting the attention of our server. We were not checked on from time to time at all. Recommend ordering out from here but not being in the actual restaurant.
