Will start off by saying the service is great, staff is super friendly and the food was prepared really fast. For the French Market the price is also great! If you're a vegetarian this place will have the most amount of options for you. That being said, food is pretty average. The flavors are pretty toned down for an Indian restaurant but I still thought it was tasty, this is most noticeable in the samosas. I also fo... View all feedback.
What Christina H doesn't like about Klay Oven Kitchen:
Got the chicken tikki masala and hate to report that it was dry and lacked the strong Indian flavors and spices it should have had. Rice tasted underdone as well. Mango lassi was super thin, but was refreshing. All this for a little under $20 was definitely underwhelming. Service was great though. View all feedback.
As for seating, there are plenty of nice areas available, and I noticed many locals opting for takeout during lunchtime. To find the restaurant, enter the French Market inside the station, go straight down the aisle, and then turn right. You'll see the K Kitchen sign there. In summary, this is truly a standout Korean restaurant in Chicago, especially given how hard it is to find good Korean food in the downtown area. The seating areas in front are plentiful and create a warm, market-like atmosphere that feels very local. I wish this restaurant continued success as it leads the way in promoting Korean cuisine!
I have to admit that I might be a little biased when it comes to K-Kitchen, as Hannah, the chef, is a wonderful person. I've been dining here for about two years and have tried everything on the menu. I can confidently say that I've never had a bad meal. In my opinion, this is the best Korean food in the Chicagoland area. Keep in mind that it's located in a food market, so you won't have servers; it's a simple order-and-sit setup. But trust me, it's absolutely worth it. I could rave about the food for hours, but you really should go and try it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at K-Kitchen. The staff here is absolutely amazing. Hanna and Chuy always greet customers with a smile, and it's evident that they genuinely enjoy their work. They go above and beyond to ensure the food is top-notch and that customers are satisfied. My go-to dish is the Korean Popcorn Chicken with honey butter, and it has never let me down—definitely a reliable choice. I also typically order a side of gochujang sauce, and they always remember to include it, even when I forget to ask for it. I can’t emphasize enough how fantastic K-Kitchen is, and I highly recommend giving their food a try if you haven’t already. A solid 10/10!
The most authentic korean food I've had while living in the US. My girlfriend and I got the ssam platter and spicy tofu soup as well as the sweet potato fries, and they were all so amazing and delicious. 10/10
Self service via online or tablet, but at least they don't ask for a tip. Ambiance is not really applicable since it's in the French market food court. I ordered the Bulgogi beef bimi bowl. The ingredients tasted fresh, and it was filling, however, the lack of meat and price made it no worth coming back to try again.
