Kfc - Chicago
Kfc
Description
In a recent exploration of a local KFC, customer experiences revealed a stark contrast in service and food quality. While some patrons enjoyed quick service and clean surroundings, others faced disappointing meals characterized by bland flavors and over-fried chicken. Issues with order accuracy and staff responsiveness were prevalent, with some customers reporting blame-shifting rather than accountability from management. Though a few appreciated the consistent efficiency of in-person orders, the overall sentiment suggests that potential diners should approach this location with caution, as it struggles to maintain a reliable standard of quality and service.

I ordered an 8-piece pocket and some sides, totaling $42.00, but the employee didn’t smile or even ask if I wanted my receipt. When you spend that much on a meal and don’t receive the right service, it’s really disappointing. I won’t be returning to this branch again.
This KFC is the worst I've ever experienced. I highly recommend avoiding this location. The food lacks flavor, and it seems old, cooked in excessive amounts of poor-quality oil. You will likely feel unwell after eating here.
The restaurant staff seems completely unaware of the app or online specials. Instead of taking the time to read and understand them, they stubbornly stick to the specials displayed on the ordering board behind the counter. This became an issue when I inquired about an online promo for 8 pieces for $29.99. The employee insisted that it didn’t exist. When I showed her the app, she insisted that "either/or" meant not both, even though it was clear that the promotion applied to both options. The location on Irving Park had no trouble honoring the offer, so this experience felt rude and unhelpful. I won’t be returning.
I completely understand the bathroom policy, but the attitudes of the predominantly Spanish staff towards other customers, particularly Black patrons, are absurd. I was denied napkins before I even placed my order, which led me to decide not to order at all. As a property manager for several nearby buildings, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The moment you open the door, there's an awful smell reminiscent of a dead rat, and the staff are quite unfriendly.
Later, I encountered another employee, who may or may not have been a manager. My family had experienced her yelling at customers who were trying to open the bathroom door, so we assumed we just needed to push harder. After several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to ask if she could help. I inquired if a light would shine through the floor of the door if someone was inside, but she didn’t hear me and asked me to repeat the question. Instead, I thought it would be faster to just ask her to open the bathroom door. Her response shocked me again: “Yes, I have to open the bathroom door, but can’t you see I’m busy working?” At that point, I was furious. I told her to open the door and let my family know they could use the restroom. Afterwards, my family members told me they noticed throughout our meal that there was always a worker watching us, and one kept circling around to refill our drinks. This confirmed my suspicion that my Asian family and I were being racially discriminated against. I’m disgusted by what occurred. Having worked in the food industry myself, I am appalled by the lack of customer service and professionalism at this establishment. I hope this review serves to protect others from the disrespect I experienced.
