Contribute FeedbackFat Rice offers a delightful fusion of Asian and Latin flavors that is sure to please any palate. The star of the menu, Arroz Gordo, was a crowd favorite and a must-try. The pork belly and soft shell crab dishes also received high praise. The desserts were a hit as well, with the black rice yogurt and ice cream bun standing out. The service was exceptional, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The vibrant atmosphere, creative cocktails, and delicious food resulted in a memorable dining experience that left guests eager to return for another visit. If you're in Chicago, Fat Rice is a top choice for a unique and flavorful meal.
The food was good but I felt like the prices were ~25% more than what I would have expected. I probably would not return I feel like I can get a better value at other excellent restaurants in the neighborhood.
Delicious! Go to Fat Rice ASAP. Their specials include a fried rice and octopus that are just wonderful. My husband and I each got both specials. Not sure how long these will be on the specials list so get them while you can....
Have been meaning to come here since I moved and finally made it here for lunch today. Requested the patio because it was a beautiful day- set away from the street and quietly secluded yet with tons of flowers and plenty of sunshine. Scott took incredible care of us, has great menu and ingredient knowledge and genuinely seems to want to be there. We will definitely be back for dinner!
Excellent dining experience! Our server was extremely helpful in going thru the menu, other service staff had our water glasses refilled after almost every drink we took and the food was amazing. Unique, delicious and leaves you wanting more. This was our first visit and definitely plan on returning!
We sat at the bar where a super friendly server (I 'm sorry I can 't recall his name, but he 's a redhead) took excellent care of us. The drink your vegetables cocktail was awesome with the trio of appetizers we shared peanuts, eggplant and pigs ears all of which I 'd order again in a heartbeat! So many flavors and textures with a nice amount of heat without being overwhelming. The arroz gordo was more than we could finish between the two of us, and every bite was delicious. Of the new places we tried on this trip, this is top of my list for a return visit!
