I was initially drawn in by the appetizing ad of this restaurant. I decided to order slices of the key lime pie cheesecake, carrot cake, and old-fashioned triple chocolate cake to take out. The key lime pie was excellent, and all three cakes were delicious.

Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless is a popular restaurant specializing in traditional Mexican cuisine with locations in Chicago. In the airport, Tortas Frontera can be found in three terminals, as well as at the University of Pennsylvania. I expected the quality to be different from their full-service restaurants, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Milanesa sandwich with crispy chicken, Jack cheese, pickled jalapeno, black beans, cilantro crema, and Tomatillo-avocado salsa. It was good, but a bit on the spicy side for my taste. Tony opted for the Chipotle Chicken sandwich with Jack cheese, poblano peppers, chipotle, black beans, cilantro crema, avocado, and arugula. I preferred his choice and we both enjoyed our sandwiches. Overall, not a bad dining experience considering it was in an airport.

Everything in the display looked very appetizing. We ordered slices of Key Lime Pie Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, and Old Fashion Triple Chocolate Cake to take away. The Key Lime was excellent and all of the desserts were delicious.

After stopping in Chicago on our way back from Milwaukee, we decided to make the most of our layover by dining at Tortas Frontera, a restaurant by well-known chef Rick Bayless. Located in three terminals at the airport, as well as at the University of Pennsylvania, Tortas Frontera offers traditional Mexican cuisine. I tried the Milanesa sandwich, which was made with crispy chicken, artisan Jack cheese, pickled jalapeno, black beans, cilantro crema, and tomatillo avocado salsa. It was good, but quite spicy for my taste. My companion ordered the Chipotle Chicken sandwich, which included artisan Jack cheese, poblano rajas, chipotle, black beans, cilantro crema, avocado, and wild arugula. I ended up enjoying their sandwich more and we ended up swapping. Overall, not a bad dining experience.
