ALWAYS warm hospitality, unique gourmet food fabulous wine. The “IDES of MARCH” NEVER disappoint, after all they’re Chicagoland’s Very Own AND I’ve enjoyed their music for six decades! View all feedback.
What Sierra doesn't like about City Winery Chicago:
I would like to mentioned it was freezing in there, I had to turn on my car heater once I left. The tables are also very small, the person next to me kelp bumping me then completing rammed her chair into mine to get something off the floor. Also the server stopped by the first five minutes I sat down which was fine because you get to see the menu before arriving however, she didn't come back around until about 30-40... I absolutely adore this place! It's the perfect combination of dinner and a show. The atmosphere is quite intimate and laid-back. They have assigned seating, so even though you share a table with others, it still feels cozy and enjoyable.
Wow! It's been a while since we last visited City Winery, and they have really upped their game. We purchased tickets for an early show to see The Squirrel Nut...
I had such a wonderful experience! I visited for dinner and a concert with some friends. As big fans of the Real Housewives and especially of Candiace, it was an absolute treat!
The food was disappointing. The fries were chewy and lacked seasoning, and I found the menu to be quite limited. On the plus side, the space was nice, and the music was enjoyable. However, the service was extremely slow during both of my visits. The wine was terrible, so I decided to go for a mixed drink, which was good, but at $16.50 for a shot, I think I'll skip that next time. I'd be willing to return just to enjoy the music, but I’d make sure to eat beforehand and have a drink before arriving. The bathroom was clean, at least.
As for the food, it was disappointing. The truffle fries I ordered cost $11, and they were unsalted and clearly refried. The woman next to me sent her order back, only to choose something else she didn't enjoy either. On a positive note, the sangria was delicious. Unfortunately, the wait for food and drinks was incredibly long, taking over 20 minutes. I had to go find the waiter just to place my order. By the time our food and drinks arrived, the show had already ended. It felt frustrating to be sitting there with a full drink, lights up, while staff were bumping into the back of my chair, eager to leave. I really love the idea of a small venue concert, but it seemed like the main focus was more on making money rather than creating a good experience for patrons.
