I asked the host/server about them and she said that was the seasoning. If that’s true, the seasoning tastes a lot like old oil. I couldn’t eat it. The server/host didn’t offer anything else either so we paid and left hungry.I wasn’t expecting a “healthy” meal but I also didn’t think my breakfast would be drenched in grease. I wonder, is the seasoning added to the eggs too?Stick to the pancakes… after all it does have waffles in the name.

The waitress was patient and came back to check on us after the food was served and they had an additional server just for water. My daughter loved the pancakes. Pancakes were huge with plenty of berries and whipped cream. My chicken and gravy was a little dry and the gravy lacked flavor. Plus the poached eggs were pretty much hard boiled. So I have to drop a star. My son enjoyed his skillet steak but didn't like how the eggs came on top. Also be aware that skillet steak is steak bits but it was cooked well. Bathrooms are very clean! They were also very smart to just give us a carafe of water which is rare!

I highly recommend the 2x2x2 breakfast (as shown in the picture). We were also given coffee to take with us, which was a nice touch. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4 out of 5.

I tried... read more I found a lovely breakfast spot in the neighborhood! They offer a fantastic selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. The service was quick and friendly. I tried the special, which was a Wonut—a delightful combination of a waffle and a donut. It was absolutely delicious! The drip coffee was also quite good.

However, Waffles is the exception to tha... read more I admit I tend to stick to my favorites when I dine out, but there are times when my go-to choices don’t quite satisfy. However, Waffles is the exception to that rule! I always order the Waffle Flight, and it never fails to impress me. I typically pair it with turkey bacon, fresh fruit, and a mimosa (without the orange juice). The staff is always friendly, and you're warmly welcomed upon arrival. You can choose a seat by the window to soak in some sunshine or relax in the back. Parking in the West Loop can be a bit of an adventure, so be ready to circle the block a few times. I rate it 10/10 and highly recommend it! Thank you, Waffles, for your consistently outstanding service!
