Charred Wing
3.5 / 5 (144 reviews)

Description

This neighborhood wing spot divides diners: devotees praise a wide roster of char‑grilled, well‑seasoned wings and standout parmesan fries, while others report inconsistent cooking (dry, undercooked or overfried), rubbery seafood, long waits, extra charges for utensils/celery, and serious cleanliness and service lapses including reports of hair. The vibe is casual, bar‑like and rowdy. Worth a try for adventurous wing lovers, but confirm pickup times, inspect orders on arrival, and be prepared to reheat or seek alternatives if quality falters.

I am quite disappointed with both the food and the service. The wings were extremely dry, and the fried pickles had such thin slices that I couldn’t really taste the pickle at all. The service was also lacking; I had to wait much longer than expected for my order to be ready, even after being given a pick-up time. I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes for my food, with no apology or acknowledgment from the staff. I wasted my lunch break standing around waiting for my meal. I won't be returning.

I’m surprised by the bad reviews on this place. The wings are well cooked even though they are char grilled. Honestly some of my favorite wings. I’m a Buffalo Joes guy and these are different but still really good!

These wings had to be the worst I’ve ever had in Chicago. The customer service was less than par and the fries were over cooked. The chicken was a nice size but dry and under cooked. I didn’t even want to share with my dog. I would rate this a “0” if I could and will not be recommending this place to anyone. Unacceptable and disrespectful wait time for what I received. Might I add that this is the first time that I’ve had to pay for utensils, celery that I didn’t receive and paying $24 for hot garbage. Never again!!

Delicious! I ordered the buffalo wings! They do not use flour which I love. Theatre were so flavorful!

Wide collection of wing flavors, all which do not disappoint. Well sized and well cooked wings. The garlic parmesan, buffalo, nashville hot, and lemon pepper were excellently seasoned and felt fresh (probably because it appears they toss them in with actual garlic cloves and parmesan, which were included with the wings as a tasty treat). Would recommend getting them (and snatching some of their side sauces to get an idea of the other flavored wings they have). And if they come cold due to the delivery (like the other reviewer had an issue with and should not reflect on the quality of the wings but on the delivery service they used) pop them in the oven at 400 for 8-10 minutes. The parmesean fries are delicious. The fried pickles come as thinly sliced pickles with a solid batter fried on it and tasty urban sauce to dip.
