Charlatan
Description
Charlatan has garnered attention for its charming ambiance and creative menu, drawing both locals and visitors alike. Patrons have praised its impressive pasta dishes and delightful cocktails, highlighting the attentive service from hard-working staff, even amid staffing challenges. However, some guests faced disappointing experiences, particularly during busy evenings or the restaurant's final night, where menu items were limited and service faltered. Despite these inconsistencies, many celebrate the vibrant atmosphere, delectable food, and friendly service, solidifying Charlatan as a notable dining destination in the city. Diners are encouraged to check staffing and menu availability before visiting for the best experience.
Feedback
We were very impressed with everything. The hostess was super friendly, the waitstaff was nice and very efficient. The food was amazing and we loved the atmosphere. Thank you for a great dining experience!
I had heard about Charlatan on Check Please, and I was really looking forward to dining there. The food was enjoyable, and our waitress was hardworking and very pleasant. Unfortunately, there was only one waitress on duty, and the bartender didn't show up either. This made for a disappointing experience. I was quite excited, but that enthusiasm quickly faded once we settled in and saw the situation. I have to commend the waitress for managing everything so well—she truly did a fantastic job. My recommendation is to check if the restaurant is adequately staffed before you go.
The fresh pasta dishes were wonderful. Table spilt the monsterous Chicken Parm which was a little over the top but delicious. Friendly attentive service compliments the food.
The bartender and server didn't seem interested in making us feel welcome; they were both just going through the motions and didn’t engage in any conversations. We were really looking forward to celebrating my girlfriend's birthday at Charlatan after seeing it on Check Please. The meatball was fantastic, but my steak was bland, and her pasta dish was just mediocre.
