If I were to suggest some changes, I’d say that the menu could be a bit more concise. I think that’s part of the reason for the long wait times mentioned in some of the one-star reviews. Additionally, the menu could use clearer explanations; the numbers are difficult to read. A menu should be a strong sales pitch, so I’d recommend making it look a bit more polished. However, I appreciated the transparency in the restaurant’s operations. Now, addressing some of the negative comments: I can understand some diners feeling that the food was terrible, but I personally found it to be quite good, though not groundbreaking; it’s your typical taqueria fare. One thing I did notice, and I hope the management takes note, is that the staff was handling food with bare hands. If I were in charge, I would require them to wear gloves. I overheard some staff speaking about customers in Spanish, which made me aware that they might think I wouldn’t understand. I’m Spanish myself, and I heard them refer to me as a kid. I wasn’t offended, but I am 30 years old! Having worked in many restaurants across various cuisines, I can tell you that staff often discuss customers as they leave, and this happens everywhere, regardless of the language spoken. As for the wait time, my experience was average. This is a common issue with restaurants that have more options than necessary. I ordered a Piccadillo, which didn’t seem to be a popular choice, so they had to prepare it from scratch, and their reactions suggested it was unexpected. Casa Cafe reminds me of Susie's, the cheesesteak place that used to be around. The staff seemed a bit cramped back there, so I think reducing the amount of wandering around would increase efficiency. Overall, I see great long-term potential for Casa Cafe as a venue, with the restaurant serving as an attractive addition rather than the main focus—similar to Beat Kitchen. It’s encouraging to see so many people attending events; we had around 100 guests, which bodes well for the restaurant.
The food is consistently fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and they offer a wide selection of Mexican cuisine. The only downside is that parking can be limited.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the beef stew accompanied by homemade tortillas was truly delicious. The flavors were amazing, and there was plenty of beef, which definitely filled me up. If you're in the area, it's a must-try! I know I’ll be back for more. Plus, I was lucky to find street parking right in front.
