Description

This Lincoln Park gem serves hearty, authentic Middle Eastern fare at fair prices, praised for standout hummus, lamb, grape leaves, koshary and generous portions. Service is friendly and fast, with a welcoming owner and helpful touches like late hours, to-go options and traditional sweets. The setting is casual with soothing Arabic music—perfect for families, groups or budget diners—though it’s more fast-casual than upscale and occasional inconsistency (notably a dry chicken shawarma) has been reported.

Off-the-hook good for a super-fair price. Seriously, this city is loaded with places that will sell you a smaller lamb shank dinner for double or treble the price as the one offered here, and they will all pale in comparison. The grape leaves are excellent, as is the lentil soup. Really, you've got to try it.

The food was great and the service was fast and friendly. Prices very reasonable with large portions. Walked in hungry and left full. Tried the koshary as I'd never had it before. Was very tasty! Would definitely recommend this spot.

My daughter and I go here when we can. Hands down the best hummus I've ever eaten. I could subsist on it. I love the chicken shawarma sandwich. If I lived in that neighborhood, I'd be there a lot!

The food is excellent, with generous portions. I ordered two entrees, a large jerk salad, and a side of falafel. It was more than enough to feed 4-5 people, even though I ordered for just two! I was also informed it would take 20 minutes for my order to be ready, but when I arrived in just 10 minutes, it was already done. Five stars!

I asked the owner, Mohamad, for recommendations on where to find some Middle Eastern sweets in the area. He courteously helped me find a spot but warned me that it was getting late and the shop would likely be closed by the time I arrived. Going above and beyond, he offered us a substantial pack of assorted Middle Eastern sweets from the restaurant, refusing any payment. Despite my insistence, he remained incredibly generous. I have deep respect for this establishment and its staff; it’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I will definitely return whenever I’m in the area, and I highly recommend it to others. Thank you, Mohamad, and the team for such a wonderful experience!
