We've finally concluded that Cafe El Tapatio is our go-to Mexican place. Like Chinese food, you just have to have YOUR place, and Tapatio is definitely our family's go-to Mexican. Service was good, staff was nice, food came out quickly, michelada was delicious (highlight to my meal), but the food was not a hit. I had the birria tacos and was so disappointed in the taste, presentation, and amount of sides given. I felt like I was scavenging to make it enough and the consume made my stomach hurt. Brunch, lunch or dinner this place ALWAYS gets it right. Everything is delicious and the spicy Cantina Margarita is amazing!
If you are looking for good solid Mexican food, Cafe El Tapatio should be your go to restaurant. Inside seating is a little tight, and it can be a little loud, but there are also outside tables during the summer. A large menu without being ridiculous, plus a nice selection of adult beverages (cervezas and cocktails). Would recommend El Tapatio.
I come to tapitio whenever I need a for sure good meal and drink— it never fails to be a great time!
Our server was rude irritated right from the start. He made several snide comments in response to our order rolled his eyes. Food was average at best. A lot of staff circulating without ever really getting anything done. Our table sat with dirty dishes and glasses piled up. We wouldn’t reorder anything we had. Very unlikely to return. I will say the decor inside was very cute the bar area looked nice. The birthday cake gelato next door was the highlight of the night!
My friend told me about this restaurant and I wanted to try it with my friends. We sat outside at first until it started raining. Everything was good and priced well. We would definitely go back.
