Breakfast House - Chicago
Breakfast House
Description
This cozy eatery has earned a reputation as a go-to brunch spot, boasting an extensive menu that caters to varying palates. Diners rave about dishes like the chorizo hash and salmon Benedict, while some express disappointment in certain items, such as bland chipotle sauces and unremarkable toast. The attentive staff and fresh, delectable pancakes create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families. Signature drinks like frozen mango margaritas and mimosas enhance the experience, although the noise level can rise during peak hours. Overall, this charming venue is worth a visit, promising delightful dishes amidst some inconsistent flavors.

It had a wonderful atmosphere, and I loved the salt and pepper shakers. I ordered the make your own omelet with spinach, jalapeno and mozzarella cheese. I loved the omelet and side of potatoes (shone in photo) and, the pancake was light and fluffy. Good coffee. I am most positively coming another time. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $10–20 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Vegetarian options: I loved that they had a sort of miny menu for vegetarians and, I thought that the make your own omelet provided lots of options, so I did not have to feel so restricted. Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge street parking, Paid street parking Wheelchair accessibility: My grandma has a walker, and she was embarrassed that she deeded all that help but she also thought it was nice they offered to help her. My grandma did not have that much of a problem, but it would be a much bigger problem for someone with a wheelchair. She dos think it was worth it thou.
Just wow, this place was delicious! Best breakfast my wife and I have ever had, hands down. We shared the Supreme Chorizo Hash and the Breakfast House Hash. Yum! Service was friendly and welcoming. Our server Miguel was fantastic. Will revisit for future trips to Chicago! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $10–20
I have been driving past The Breakfast House for years and somehow never stopped in which, looking back, is a huge mistake because this place is amazing. My friend and I hadn’t seen each other in forever and wanted a diner vibe with alcohol and he suggested this spot. They don’t take reservations so you just check in with the hostess, give your number, and wait for the magical “your table is ready” text. We came on New Year’s Day so it was busy but we only waited about fifteen minutes which honestly felt way too fast for a holiday. The staff here are next level. Every single person we interacted with was insanely nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The whole vibe is super chill and welcoming, it feels like a bunch of friends just hanging out in a restaurant. It is impossible not to feel comfortable here. I ordered four mango mimosas because I clearly have no self-control and my favorite breakfast dish, Huevos Rancheros. I made sure the server confirmed it would be authentic Mexican-style and asked him to add salsa verde on top. It was everything I hoped for and more, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and exactly what I wanted. I cleaned my plate and immediately regretted not ordering more. The bathrooms are spotless and the restaurant itself is super clean. Every interaction I had with the staff was excellent and nothing about this visit disappointed me. I am so glad I finally went and I will definitely be back soon because this place deserves it and I deserve to have more of those mango mimosas. Breakfast House offered us an incredible brunch experience during the week. The menu featured mouthwatering options—my friend chose the Paris omelet, while I had the egg white and spinach omelet, which was the best I've ever tasted. The standout of our meal was definitely the crepes; they were light, fluffy, and generously topped with dulce de leche, making them absolutely delicious. The service at Breakfast House was exceptional as well.
