While some found the food and drinks to be just okay, others raved about the delicious pizza and salads. Service was hit or miss, with slow patio service and a lack of attentiveness. The cash-only policy was a drawback for some, despite an on-site ATM. Overall, patrons appreciated the lively experience and cozy ambience, making it a popular spot for drinks and bites. The restaurant is known for its creative toppings and refreshing cocktails, making it a great place for a casual night out.
The goat salad was probably one of the best salads I've ever had. When it came to the pizza I'm usually one to get meat on it, but they had a great vegetarian option that I just had to try and it did not disappoint. I would have given them five stars except the first specialty cocktail that I ordered was overpowered too much by the lemon in it, couldn't even tell that there was bourbon in the drink. The next cocktail was a lot better though. I am looking forward to heading back. The price may look high per person in my review but I did have a salad along with pizza and two of their specialty cocktails. I felt it was very worth the price.
We enjoyed our food and had a fun time. It was a cold and rainy night so unfortunately we were sat outside (it’s covered). Ellen was okay and seemed pretty busy that night! Malcolm was a great bus boy and runner!! We loved his overalls and he was really attentive and helpful! The food was yummy, everyone really liked the purist slice. We enjoyed some cocktails like the Pen Island and Old Dutch Mule. The cash only aspect was frustrating especially because she couldn’t split our bill for us but we did the math and figured it out. I didn’t love that they were playing animal planet and spiders were on a projector while I was eating, but oh well! Lions were on their too and we loved that!!
Casual, lively experience for a pizza place. I really enjoy coming in, whether it's to sit on the patio, in the dining room or at the bar. Beer selection is solid. Pizza isn't on the cheap side, but you're getting a wealth of ingredients without weighing the crust down and ruining your slice.
Love the Boiler Room! I've been going here for years. Their slices are delightful and they have a solid beer selection and a great ambience inside right near the blue line California stop. Only complaint is that they continue to be cash only (which is surprising after 2+ years of pandemic times) but they do have an ATM on site if you need it.
The PBJ combo is a great deal. Excellent sausage pizza and drink options.
