Was Joe at Bayan Ko a mag?
I went to this restaurant with friends tonight to celebrate my birthday, and the prix fixe menu was amazing. Alfredo, our server, was fantastic - so handsome and attentive to everyone. It was a pleasure dining here. I enjoyed it so much, and it was worth every penny. View all feedback.
What Nick Jablonski dislikes about Bayan Ko:
A solid “meh” overall good, but a couple misses like the Kare Kare and Canton noodles. Maybe an off night? Stand outs included the sliders and lumpia. But flavors lacked real taste a bland peanut sauce and just lacking a Filipino punch. Very loud inside as well. View all feedback.

Not very familiar with Filipino food but I enjoyed this place a lot as a fusion spot. We came in near closing but the waitress was so kind and prompt even though she was the only one in the front. The “nigiri” was seriously flavorful, but thehighlight was the white chocolate flan. Never had basil on flan but it was a genius move. The restaurant interior is cute too.
Absolutely wonderful establishment. Everything from the amazing food, cooked and presented with perfection. To Hannah with ease single handedly running the front of a packed restaurant. I just wish I could give an even higher rating to the gem of arestaurant that I have found. Thanks guys for making my night.
Came to Bayan Ko for my friend's 30th bday dinner..the food was AMAZING! The service was great, very attentive and friendly. We loved the paella, cuban sandwiches and mussels especially but everything we had was great. Make sure you end with some of theirice cream
I went to Bayan Ko for restaurant week and I was fairly disappointed. I was very excited for the food. I’m a big fan of Filipino cuisines and I have to admit this does not hit the spot. I would not say this is authentic Filipino food. It’s a funfusion though. The food was alright. I still enjoyed my meal. My criticism is that I wish there was more flavor and balancewith the dishes. My pork belly dish came with only a little bit of veggies. I wish it came it with more. It was very crispythough, which was nice. My friend also said she wished the chicken wings had more flavor. My boyfriend ordered the pinoy burgerand it was mediocre. However, the ube sundae was delightful. I did hear that Bayan Ko gets their ube ice cream from MilkyMilky, a local Filipina-owned business.

I highly recommend Bayan Ko! They truly went above and beyond to make my birthday dinner incredible. Every dish we tried was not just tasty, but at a “best I've ever had” level. The lumpia, Cubano sliders, fried rice, bisteak, and flan were all flavorful, beautifully presented, hearty, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff was communicative, accommodating, thoughtful, and welcoming—even for a takeaway order. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit!
I enjoyed the creative menu and great, attentive service. we got the lumpia, mussels, pancit noodles, and the flan. the BEST: the flan. best flan i’ve ever had, and i’m a huge fan of flan, but i’ve never had flan so smooth, custardy, and rich before wow. the lumpia and the musses were both pretty good. my biggest complaint was the noodles — heavily, heavily [hidden link] i like very salty food so it takes a lot for me to say that. I will definitely come back, for the flan alone but also to … – show
Excellent food and service. Go with their recommendations. Had the croquetas, nigiri with pork jowl and quail egg (Such a cool presentation! , and Lumpia for bites. Kare Kare (traditional oxtail stew with bok Choy and incredible fermented shrimp paste and Pork Belly. Both 10/10. Ube Ice cream for dessert — which also had little pieces of their coconut flan which was insanely creamy and delicious. We’ll be back soon! Oh, and it’s BYOB!!

The food at this restaurant was excellent. Although many dishes had a smoked flavor, which is not usually my preference, it was subtle and flavorful. The wine pairings were exceptional.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant last weekend and we are thrilled that we chose this place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was incredibly delicious (especially the empanadas... they were out of this world!), and the staff was wonderful. We will definitely be returning to try the desserts next time!
This restaurant is fantastic. I don't understand how it only has a rating of 4.6, because it deserves a perfect 5 stars. My girlfriend and I even debated over which dish was the best (it's the lumpia).
The restaurant offers fantastic and innovative dishes with bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The service was excellent, and I can't wait to return once they obtain their liquor license.

Bayan Ko is outstanding. Absolutely delicious food. We loved the very original fusion between Filipino and Cuban. Favorites included the crab croquettes, squid ink noodles with scallops and uni, lumpia, and mussels wow were these all great. We also loved the intimate ambience and the fact that you can do half orders of each item on the whole menu, we got to try more things why don’t all restaurants do that?? Drinks (strawberry daiquiri and pina colada) also top notch. If you haven’t been here go ASAP

Last night's breadbreakers delivered another successful gourmet evening in Bayan Ko on the philippine-Cuban cuisine of the boss Lawrence Letrero. It is extraordinary that we have tried all dishes on the menu, and each individual course provided a new nuance of this fusion kitchen at a very high level in terms of taste and satisfaction. I will make sure to repeat this experience again soon. Exquisite!
Traditional food from Filipino and Cuban with a spin! Made at a high level and absolutely delicious!
We visited during the week but the noise level was something else super duper loud! It was our 2nd visit the first was charming and romantic atmosphere this time, much different. Service was impeccable food terrific. I guess one can’t determine the atmosphere based on client being different each evening. Will definitely return !
The food was fantastic, our server was wonderful. This place was worth taking the train up to, I would recommend to friends (I already have! . Get the luglug noodles yum garlic. The maduros so, so good.
Let me just say that the Oxtail Kare Kare is like a warm blanket on a cold night. I would come back to Bayan Ko for that dish everyday of the week, and twice on Sunday. Chef Lawrence, you crushed it with this one. Honestly, though, everything we had was delicious. From the Lumpia to the Cevice, and the Oxtail to the Lechon you can't go wrong. Trust me when I say both the Flan and Ube Sundae are necessary to close out your experience. I have to say the service was some of the best we've experienced. Jaye and the team made us feel like we were eating at a friends house. There was never a time when we didn't feel welcome. And getting a chance to let Chef Lawrence know how much we were enjoying his food was a great privilege. Thank you so much. Bayan Ko is a must. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
