Excellent food; this is a waffle place so order those. The clock n gouf came in a generous size, with a delicious moist and spicy chicken breast on top as well as in the waffle. This would be a regular breakfast spot if I lived nearby. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $10–20

Batter Berries hit exactly the way I needed it to on a cold Chicago morning. The second I walked in, the place had this warmth to it—not just the heat, but the people. The staff greeted everyone like regulars, and the whole room felt like a neighborhood spot where folks actually show up for each other. As someone traveling through, it honestly made me feel like I was home for a moment. I ordered the French Toast Flight, and it lived up to the hype. Each piece had its own flavor and character, and you could tell they put intention behind every topping instead of just dressing up bread. It’s one of those dishes you slow down for just so it lasts a little longer. Good food, good people, good energy. Exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble into when you’re far from home. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Super French Toast Flight

Beyond disappointed with my experience here. When I got to the restaurant, it was packed and people were waiting outside for a table. We joined the wait list for a table, after 40 minutes+ of waiting we got a table. While we waited inside we overheard the host tell a delivery guy that they were backed up and the food was not ready yet. We wanted to verify the information we heard to make a decision to leave and go somewhere else, and the host told us that they were only back up on delivery orders not dine in orders. We placed our order and paid for it within minutes, not knowing the waiting game would continue. After waiting another 40 minutes we still didn't receive our order. We requested updates and even told them to pack it to go since we had to go. The waitress told us she's getting her manager. We were only given part of our order before leaving, telling them we would be back for the rest. Not once did the manager come before we left. We were not given our drink while waiting. When we came back for the rest of our order, it still was not ready, which was a little more than 30 minutes since we told them we were coming back. If you looking for a quick breakfast this is not the place for you. For context, it was only one other person and myself, there is no reason why our order should take longer than an hour. They also have a rule in which all persons in your party must be present in order to get the table, which was odd since most places allow you to get your table if 50% of your party is present. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $50–60 Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Paid street parking

Use online wait list to cut your wait time to this excellent breakfast place. Positive staff and bright space along with the don’t miss French Toast flight and spicy pork sausage won’t disappoint.

My first time in Chicago and the first restaurant my friend recommended was this. We got to the restaurant and had to wait fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes later we got a table. Our server came to us quickly. He gave us the menu and we order our drinks. There are so much delicacies on the menu we had a hard time choosing what to eat. Our server brought us our drinks then informed us about the seven different types of French toasts they serve. My friend ordered the French toasts and I ordered the … – show
