This restaurant offers a picturesque setting for a late breakfast or lunch, with fresh and delicious salads as well as a mouth-watering burger. The patio overlooks a lovely lake/pond, and the smoked salmon and friendly service make for a perfect breakfast spot. However, despite having an attractive and innovative menu inspired by high-level museum offerings, the restaurant falls short in terms of coherence and service. On the other hand, a late dinner reservation left a couple feeling rushed and uncomfortable due to an impatient server. Despite these drawbacks, many diners have enjoyed outstanding food, exceptional service, and a wide variety of options for both adults and kids. While some dishes may have missed the mark in terms of taste, the overall experience was positive, especially when considering the exceptional quality of the museum itself.

We loved everything about this meal. The food was outstanding as was the service. It was difficult to choose an item because there were so many wonderful choices. Plus the museum itself was extraordinary. View all feedback.
What Kimberly Mohr dislikes about Barroco:
We booked a reservation for a late dinner as we weren't arriving to the resort until late. The server seemed annoyed with us as soon as we sat down. He seemed further frustrated when we ordered, as we didn't order appetizers he tried to push on us. When our meals were served, the server stood a few feet away from our table and stared us down, making us feel uncomfortable and rushed to finish our meals. It was obvious... View all feedback.
Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier.
Ramon's is an awesome waiter with 42 years of experience on the La Costa property!
