Avenue M - Chicago
Avenue M
Description
Perched on Michigan Avenue, this downtown hotel delivers strong value: clean, spacious rooms, striking city views and attentive housekeeping make it ideal for shoppers, couples and convention-goers. Guests praise helpful bell and front-desk staff and proximity to attractions, though service consistency varies. Notable drawbacks include occasional pest sightings, dated bathrooms, noisy plumbing, an A/C that blows on the bed, slow elevators, parking costs/limits and clerical hiccups with refunds. Great for location-conscious travelers but check policies and amenities before booking.

These rooms are gross. Stains on carpet and sheets. The title in the bathroom is missing in spots. Really sad state especially for the money. This is a 2 Star hotel at best.
You might just trip over yourself in the room...way to small. I'm very familiar with boutique hotels, but the rooms are more like an oversized closet. Location is good, but I prefer to stay away from Michigan Ave.
I knew this hotel was centrally located, but I didn't fully appreciate it until I arrived. It's right on the Magnificent Mile and offers excellent value for money, making it ideal for budget travelers. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself is charming. The only drawback was the noisy air conditioner, which we also encountered in other hotels during our vacation.
The room was extremely small, much smaller than the photos made it seem. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. There is a lot of road noise (honking and sirens) that can be heard in the room all night long. If you have a car, parking is $60 a night.
There were multiple stains on the carpets and blankets of the bed. The rooms were incredibly tiny. The beds didn’t even have fitted sheets on them, they had a mattress pad and a loose sheet tucked into the mattress which kept sliding off of the bottom corners. It took the hotel 3 days to take out our payment after check out. The front desk was rude and rushing at check in. Seems like a lot of hassle for what it’s priced.
