Al's #1 Italian Beef - Chicago

Doors are supposed to open at 10:30am. I stood at the front while employees stood inside and watched me wait. I went to Dunkin right next and had my order in less then five minutes. I would never recommend this Al's as you'll end up sick or wasting your time waiting for continued terrible customer service inside. Zero stars if possible. Whoever is the owner needs to stay on top of the employees or be at the store to open the doors when they are supposed to be open.

Best Chicago style chopped beef I've ever had. Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting Chicago. The sandwiches even beat out the Philly cheesesteaks I got at cheesesteak corner in Philadelphia. They are messy though, especially if you get it dipped in gravy.Food: 5/5

I stopped by this restaurant after the Cubs game and ordered a couple of Polish sausages and beef sandwiches. Everything was spot on, and the food was served quickly. While I'm not sure which place is the absolute best in the city, I can say that this is quality fast food. They truly deserve their prime location and the recognition they receive. Fantastic job! If you haven't tried an Italian beef sandwich yet, I strongly recommend getting one from here. Just overlook any other place that isn't Al's. After sampling one the other day from a different restaurant (which shall remain unnamed), I can confidently say this one is ten times better. The sandwich from the other restaurant was a dry, tasteless disappointment, while this one was hot, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Check out the photo of my spicy, wet Italian beef sandwich. The small shop was incredibly clean, and everyone was friendly. The owner/manager even stopped by to have a chat for a bit.
