Alba's - Chicago
Alba's
Description
A cozy, colorful neighborhood taqueria celebrated for authentic, homemade Mexican cooking — from chilaquiles and tacos to tamales, pozole and mole. Regulars praise the warm, attentive owner and rustic, flavorful dishes that keep locals coming back for takeout or casual meals. The room is unpretentious and homey, though patrons note occasional service hiccups: sporadic online-order cancellations, inconsistent hours and variable tamale quality. Overall, a beloved, flavor-forward spot for those seeking genuine homestyle Mexican.

I had an amazing first experience at this restaurant! The staff was friendly, and the food was fantastic. I'll definitely be returning—the chilaquiles were the best I've ever had!
I visited this restaurant for the first time, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend it; it has a warm, homey atmosphere. Be sure to try their freshly made tamales!
My husband and I visit this restaurant at least twice a month with our daughter. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious, and Alba is such a wonderful person! We’ve enjoyed the pozole multiple times, along with the tampiquena, tamales, mole, enchiladas, and tacos—each dish is the best we've ever had. I really hope more people discover and experience this amazing place!
