we visited with the family and chose this pub because of the extensive vegan options. I had the vegan haggis, neeps and tatties and my partner had the mushroom burger and chips. this was traditional vegan cuisine, a flat mushroom with cherry on a bungalow. it's so nice to have proper food. we love the availability of meat alternatives in these days, it makes it much easier for people who are just beginning to change... For a pub that claims to be the home of gin on their website this was a confusing experience. We weren 't given a drinks menu and the staff seemed taken aback to be asked for one and didn 't seem to know about the gin of the day that was advertised on the signage. I was really impressed by staff 's not a problem attitude. My mate said her order, then when it came out , was disappointed. She thought she 'd ordered something else
Another real gem of a find. We take visiting clients here on a regular basis as the food is stunning. Fantastic for veggie and vegans, one of the best menus I've seen and if you like pies then you are in for a treat. Great beers, great food and great service. Highly recommended.

First and foremost, the service at Market Tavern was excellent, with the staff going above and beyond to cater to our needs. We ordered Lobster and Steak as well as a Lamb dish. The Lobster and Steak were satisfactory, although the lobsters were a bit on the small side, which was disappointing. The Lamb dish was decent, but the potatoes were served slightly cold and the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and inedible. The prices at Market Tavern are higher than other restaurants in the area, so attention to detail is crucial. While the quality of the food is the main draw, I would give this restaurant a 3 out of 5 rating.
Very nice food, friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend.
