A great spot for a birthday celebration ... we took my grandson along with a friend of his and enjoyed a carvery lunch with prosecco to start with, followed by some home made birthday cake and a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday to you sung by the staff who were great before, during and after our meal. I live over an hour away and first heard of this pub 11 years ago. I finally got here for a mid week lunch. Not disappointed, in a lovely area, a proper English old pub, that has not been spoiled and the staff were very friendly and helpful. But I thought the Tuna sandwich on a soft roll with not many more than half a dozen chips and a tiny side salad for £11.00, was very expensive. I realise overheads have shot up,... View all feedback.
This pub used to be a great little pub with great food, today I visited after a walk and without really reading the menu I saw a Ploughman's. A while ago we had Ploughman's here and it was well worth the money. Today we paid £17 for two pieces of cheese, two small rolls some dry pate and half an apple and a slice of orange. No butter for the rolls, no ham and no other meat or pie. This is the worst Ploughman's I've ever had and won't be visiting again.
Living on the outskirts of Lymm, this is my favorite neighborhood pub. I absolutely love the Timothy Taylor Landlord beer, and the pints here are always perfectly kept. However, I must say that the prices have recently skyrocketed to £5.20 per pint. It's a shame, because now it will have to be a special occasion treat rather than a regular stop for me.
The Sunday dinner was underwhelming and did not live up to the appetizing visuals on the website. The only redeeming factor was the exceptional service; otherwise, I would have rated it a 2 out of 5. There is definitely room for improvement.
Fabulous food served by friendly professional staff really impressed and will certainly come again!
Meal for my mums 82nd birthday. Wide variety of choice on the menu. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly. I took a home made cake, and we didn’t order dessert and the staff were fab about it. Thank you
