I visited this restaurant while staying nearby. Hillary and her partner, whose name I didn't catch, were very welcoming and friendly. The views from the restaurant were incredible and unmatched. The drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. The locals were also friendly and seemed welcoming. It was nice to feel like a part of their community, even if only for a short time. The owners have big plans for the restaurant,... View all feedback.
What Malcolm Jones doesn't like about Hanging Gate Inn:
No dogs allowed in the pub. It was too windy to sit outside so didn't stop, so we cannot comment on food, service and atmosphere. 3 stars because no dogs allowed inside. Drove to an alternative pub not far away where we knew we could take our dog inside. Disappointed that we could not take our dog in. We wanted to help support the current owners as we were aware of the struggles they had encountered since taking over... View all feedback.

The owners have big plans for the restaurant, so it will be interesting to see how they progress. Wishing them good luck and all the best for the future! (Also, the black cat added a special touch to my evening!)
This charming pub has a lot of character and a fantastic atmosphere.
I had a wonderful time at this charming pub with fantastic views. I can't wait to go back for a delicious pizza and a pint!
Very friendly, warm and cosy inside, with beautiful views outside. Lots of outdoor seating...amazing views. We didn't eat there, but didn't see that there was any food on offer.
Stunning old pub dating back to the early 17th century. Incredible views to the rear and a nice selection of ales. Friendly landlords as well. We'll be back for Pizza.
