My family and I were searching for a nice lunch on our way home from the M6. I knew we had found a good place when we were warmly greeted by the employees upon entering. We sat outside in the courtyard and enjoyed the perfect sunshine. We all loved the food we had, especially the warm salad. The prices were very reasonable and all the staff were friendly and attentive. I even had the chance to speak with the cook who... View all feedback.
What Ευδοκία Γεννήτη doesn't like about Bears Paw Country Inn:
Booked table said we would prefer beef and lamb Arrived bar a bit of a mess food arrived no Yorkshire puddings and minimal veg Atmosphere less cold cramped If they had said low on certain parts to a Sunday lunch great would have gone else...where but still charged full price ! Not going back View all feedback.
We used to be regulars at this restaurant for several years but hadn't visited in over 18 months due to health issues and the pandemic. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and portion sizes were not up to par with what we remembered. The king prawns my wife ordered were extremely tough, and the prices seemed high for the low quality. No one asked us about our meal times, and when my wife complained, nothing was done. To top it off, we were overcharged on the bill and the staff didn't seem to care.
The Bear Paw is a charming British inn pub and restaurant housed in a building dating back to the 17th century. The origins of its name come from various forms, such as a snowshoe, an Indian ostlam shell, a suppe (which is banned in many countries), or a popular item. During my first visit, my foodie partner recommended Knutsford and The Bear Paw, even though she lives on the south coast. We could have dined on the farm grounds, but the cool breeze became too much as the evening approached. We were warmly greeted with smiles and assistance, which seemed genuine as another couple received the same treatment shortly after. Our drinks included a bottle of Zinfandel rose, followed by a delicious meal of rosemary baked Camembert and duck confit for starters, whole tail scampi and gammon steak for mains, and Belgian waffles and bread and butter pudding for dessert. After-dinner drinks included gin and orange for my partner, and water for me as I was driving. We both agreed that the service and food were impeccable.

I will definitely be returning next time I travel up North!
This country pub is located not too far away from the M6. We called in for lunch on a journey heading north. It is a charming old building with a nice dining area. The table service was very good we both chose from the light...options menu. I had a Ploughmans lunch and my partner had a small ham egg and chips. The quality was good, it was a generous size portion and good value at £14.45 for both.
