The Rustic Bean offers a mixed experience for café-goers in Banbury. While many patrons rave about the quality coffee and friendly service, particularly from staff members who embody hospitality, others express disappointment with inconsistent food offerings and lack of clear labeling for dietary options. The rustic decor and warm atmosphere attract visitors seeking a cozy spot to enjoy drinks and baked goods, but issues like slow service and unseasoned cakes have marred some visits. Overall, it remains a popular choice for coffee enthusiasts, but potential customers should be prepared for occasional shortcomings.

This charming café is a wonderful spot to enjoy a meal with your furry friend. The decor is lovely and the staff is incredibly welcoming. The menu features rustic, simple dishes that are executed and presented beautifully. The latte coffee is top-notch and the sourdough bacon sandwich is outstanding.

I don't understand why this cafe only has two stars because it is fantastic. The food is delicious, the cakes are yummy, and the coffee is really good.

Let me start by saying that on the day (2/01/23) the restaurant was full. We placed three orders one after the other and were all seated at the same table. Our drinks were served sporadically, taking over 10 minutes for three coffees and a tea. The sandwiches, of which mine was quite good, came out in a random order. My order was for two sandwiches, the first arrived, then the second 20 minutes later, and finally, 15 minutes after that, mine arrived. Other tables received their orders before me, even though they had ordered after me. The lack of organization at the front of house and in the kitchen was evident. This is what lets this place down when it is busy - they seemed unable to handle the volume. Would I go again? Yes, but only if it was not as crowded. Sorry.

I really like the Rustic Bean but what is going on at the moment. I understand that its Halloween but I go out for coffee to have a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I don’t want to have horrible masks and creepy images and a creepy clown watching me use the toilet. I always thought of the Rustic Bean as being a classy cafe, but at the moment its just turned into a horrible experience. Also all the “decorations” terrify my children. So at least for the time being I’ll be going to Waitrose for my relaxing coffee mornings.

Great spot to meet up with a friend for a coffee and piece of cake. The baked goods are fresh and there are excellent gluten free options. The coffee itself is quality and the iced latte is properly falvourful. In summer, their milkshakes are hard to beat.
