While many praise the generous portion sizes and quality of the corned beef and pastrami, others express disappointment over high prices and inconsistent food quality. Some diners report stale bread and missing toppings on their sandwiches, which detracts from their overall experience. However, the bakery and complimentary pickle bar receive compliments, adding to the charm of the establishment. In summary, The Kibitz Room offers a unique dining experience for those willing to overlook occasional flaws for hearty, traditional fare.
I recently dined at this restaurant and was blown away by the incredible Roast Beef sandwich they serve. It was by far the freshest, thinnest, and most rare sandwich I have ever tasted. The service was top-notch and the portion sizes were very generous. This is definitely a spot for those who value quality over affordability. The potato pancakes were also a hit, and to top it off, they offer a complimentary pickle bar with a great selection to choose from.
I had an enjoyable time at the Kibitz Room, but I am deducting one star due to the high price compared to the value. I ordered a turkey sandwich for $17.95, which was generous with turkey but lacked additional toppings like condiments or cheese. The online menu on DoorDash showed the sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, however these were missing from my order. Unfortunately, there was no option to add them on the online menu. The sandwich was served with a small side dish and a pickle, which left me feeling slightly disappointed.
I do not recommend this restaurant at all. It is highly overrated and I wouldn't even give it one star. The food is mediocre, the sandwiches are overpriced, and the service is lacking in friendliness and customer care. The bakery is the only positive aspect, but that doesn't make up for the overall disappointing dining experience. Save your money and look elsewhere for a satisfying meal.
After living away from the area for 7 and a half years in Jacksonville, FL (where there is a Jewish community, but no Jewish delis) it was a joy to just read the menu here. The food is top quality. Be aware that one sandwich will easily stuff 2 people leave leftovers! Their matzoh balls are excellent big enough to bowl with. Everything you can want in a NY, NJ or Philly deli!
The lean corn beef sandwich is ridiculously good! They also have some of the best half sour pickles I?ve ever tasted! Great traditional Jewish deli! Highly recommend!
