It feels immediately cozy inside – a mix of half-timbering, stone, and a I 'll stay put atmosphere. Just what you need when you 're craving some honest German home cooking. Food just like grandma used to make, complete with the appropriately rigorous table manners. The service? Truly warm. You immediately feel welcome – perhaps because Emmi is simply Emmi and puts her heart and soul into it. The menu is clear, there are seasonal extras – and the food arrives quickly, fresh, and delicious. Starters like spiced beef or goat cheese with tomato are easy to eat, but by the time you get to the roulades or sauerbraten with dumplings, ribs, or rump steak, it 's clear: the cooking here is done with love, and you can taste it. No weakness for desserts either – whether semolina pudding (yes, from the kids ' menu , ice cream with hot raspberries, or apple strudel: everything is a hit. Emmis looks rather unassuming from the outside, but inside lies a little gem from Chemnitz. Highly recommended – we 'll definitely be back. Robin
