I hate to give a place a shitty review...but WHY does it not say anywhere that the Kitchen is only open certain days? I drove all the way here to find out the Kitchen is only open 2 days a week. View all feedback.
Theres a huge selection of beers here. I 'm assuming they have loyal customers here because they kept asking for Frank . There 's also a good selection of non alcoholic drinks and chips. I ordered a chix cheesesteak with bbq. I don 't like ketchup on my cheesesteak so I substitute it with bbq sauce. I didn 't expect them to cook the bbq sauce in with the cheesesteak but it was still good. It tasted like a teriyaki cheesesteak. I 'm glad they have different sizes too because I wasn 't that hungry so I was happy to order a small. Theres also parking in the back and video games!
The cheesesteak here is quite good cheesy and meaty all mixed together. I got it with mushrooms and grilled onions. My complaint is that it is SO salty. Hours after I ate the foot long, I'm still chugging water!
Let me explain the 3 star rating. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest. It's not far from home at all. So, in my head, I had very high expectations the wings should've been perfect, and the cheesesteak and turkey hoagie should've been the greatest I've ever tasted... but unfortunately, they weren't. The garlic soy wings were too salty. I guess because they were soaked in the sauce, which then made the wings soggy. I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie with the works including pickles and hot peppers. I received the cheesesteak without pickles and hot peppers. I ordered for pick up so I assumed everything I ordered was there. The turkey hoagie was ok, nothing special. I will say the plain double fried wings were good so I'll definitely order those again. The 3 stars will not deter me from going back. I will try something different next time.
Frank was super helpful in helping me find the right sour ale. Of course I've tried their wings, but their beer selection is my favorite part. Nice to have something different than neighborhood beer distributor. AND a place where you can mix and match a 6 pack w craft beers (5% discount for 6 pack charging each beer individually). They even have a loyalty program. Upcoming: burholme night market thurs may 11 6-10pm. He says you will be around to walk around w open containers if you purchase beer there and they are expecting 20k people. Def something different for the neighborhood!
This is probably the biggest disappointment I've had with an establishment when it comes to wings. *sighs* My BF I were too lazy to cook dinner one night, so we decided to order from Chase's Hop Shop based on the raving reviews. We ordered the Salt Pepper Wings, Soy Sauce Wings, and Jim's Fries with Cheese Steak for pick up. Let's start with the good shall we? The fries were pretty good. Slightly a little too salty for me, but overall flavorful decent. Now, let's get to the bad: the wings...You know how when you go to the beach and you end up getting all this sand stuck to your skin from being wet? Well that's how much salt there was on these wings that you can see so much of the texture like it was sand. It was so bad. The Salt Pepper Wings literally tasted like you're eating tablespoons of white pepper salt. The soy sauce wings literally tasted like soy sauce; nowhere close to Korean Soy Sauce Wings. The wings were so disappointing, I wanted to throw everything up. I know, dramatic, but how would you feel if you wasted money and stomach space on food that tastes terrible? When we picked up the food, it appeared that the owner wasn't present. You know the saying: When the Owner's away, the employees will play. We got played alright. T_T Never ordering from here again.
