Not e... read more Wow, what a little gem of a place! Visiting Cheltenham for the first time, after exploring the town, feeling a bit peckish, sort of stumbled into Vegetus. Not exactly on the high street, but a few minutes walk off the main drag. Cosy, and welcoming, quite busy on Saturday lunchtime, we hadn't pre booked, so we sat outside in the sunshine for a few minutes while our table was prepared. The vibe is decidedly middle eastern, with the jolliest of hosts. His infectious good humour permeates the place. Spotlessly clean and well organised, we ordered a tagine and a mousaka, with the Beirut cooler for a non alcoholic drink. Both generous servings were delivered after a few minutes, piping hot and delicious. For dessert we had warm baklava with ice cream and a totally yummy (egg free) chocolate cake. The desert was so good, we split it, boxed it and took a slice home for our daughter! I cannot recommend this place enough, we now have a good reason to go back to Cheltenham. Try it, you will love it.

The right amount of spice. The options to eat are all very tempting but whatever you have, please order the Lebanese Coffee. If it’s your first time you’ll not regret it. I’ll be honest, when we walked in I was scepti... read more We shared a tapas platter with salad and every mouthful was delicious. Washed down with a Beirut Cooler mocktail. I’ll be honest, when we walked in I was sceptical, the waiter seemed rather busy and I thought we’d never be served. I was wrong. He managed the needs of all the tables, providing us all with excellent service and bringing the food out as it was ready. I loved the vegan twist on merghez, the falafel was among the best we’ve ever had and the baba ganoush was beautiful. We’re in the area on holiday and seriously considering a return visit tomorrow.
