Mrs Nelson's Candy House - Chelmsford

This store has been around since I was a kid and it is one of those small but nicely laid out chocolate houses. Pricey but then the location is right next to rte 3 so pulls in the travelers. Try the variety boxes so you can sample a lot more- who doesn't like chocolate ?

Highlight being the RUBY Chocolates. yes they have them. Its a bit tart however interesting to have a newer version of chocolates after Milk, white and the dark ones. They are so ready for the holiday season. Lots of options and their boxes are available in different options. The assorted boxes come in different varieties and they are delicious. A big thumbs up from kids and seniors alike. Friendly staff and you'll not leave empty handed. Maybe this is going to be my favourite store to pick up chocolates in the area.

Been getting candy from Mrs Nelson's since I was a kid and it always stays consistently excellent. My most recent visit was for Valentine's Day treats. A small store they had social distancing protocols in place to manage the crowd. It was a little sad to see the floor displays empty but this was so they could provide you personalized service rather than just randomly browsing the store. On this trip it probably saved me from buying too much candy as I literally become a kid in a candy store wanting all my favorites. The candy itself is always excellent and it is consistently high quality old fashioned favorites. This is a store to go to get nicely made delicious chocolate. They had items for children and adults alike and is a go to place for locals for all candy related holidays with a continuing rotation of seasonal favorites. I would share pictures but this gift was eaten before I thought to take a picture. : Maybe next time!

My boyfriend and I saw their sign off the highway and had to stop in. Needless to say, it was worth the stop! The owner is the sweetest woman and you can tell she took pride in the shop. The chocolate was delicious and we'll definitely be back. Reasonable prices and wide variety to choose from.

I'm so disappointed. I and my family have been going to Mrs Nelson's for decades, as long as I can remember. The chocolates have always been delicious. I received some chocolates at Christmas, including the non pareils and I just cannot believe how terrible they are. They used to be my absolute favorites! The dark chocolate is not like their old dark was, and these are so thin and taste almost stale. I'm just heartbroken that this old standby has let the quality slide so far :
