Description

Nestled in the heart of Leek, this quaint fish and chip shop offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons have enjoyed delightful and reasonably priced meals, including perfectly cooked pies and generous portions of chips, others have been left disappointed by the quality of their fish and service shortcomings, such as incomplete orders. Despite these inconsistencies, many appreciate the friendly staff and clean atmosphere, making it a cozy stop for takeout. Overall, the shop is recognized for its potential, though diners are advised to temper their expectations based on recent feedback.

I recently had a great experience with the fish and chips here. The prices are reasonable, and the location is convenient, just off the main road through the village, which was perfect after my hike in the Peak District. There's a small parking area right outside the shop. I ordered takeout for dinner, and the price per person was between £1 and £10. Overall, I'd rate the food a solid 4 out of 5, the service was also a 4, and the atmosphere was decent, scoring a 3.

Fish chips from here had become my guilty pleasure and I'd recommended the place to several friends. Sadly my visit yesterday will be my last. One medium-sized fish with rock-hard batter, a portion of pasty looking chips and a small carton of peas certainly did not justify the price of £11.80 Normally when I get home everything is hot and ready to eat but the latest offering had to go in the microwave, not what I expected at all. I can't justify paying that amount for fish chips, even if they had been good quality. Sorry, you've lost my custom Parking: Parking at front of shop Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20
