No flavors, just coffee and milk. Very different than most of coffee shops, The late was good and smooth. They have some cane sugar and some simple syrup (sugar and water so you can add as desired to your drink. Worth a try: View all feedback.
What abbey bickers doesn't like about Velo Coffee Roasters:
I’ve been here a several times and would argue it is one of the best coffee places in Chattanooga. However, recently I got a latte and an iced drink and I was really disappointed. They have great cold brew but the latte was incredible watery -it’s like it did not have espresso in it. This is the best coffee I've ever tasted, and it also serves as a fantastic community hub in Chattanooga.
I had high hopes for the lemon poppy scone, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. The vanilla latte was equally underwhelming.
I've visited this place several times and believe it to be one of the top coffee spots in Chattanooga. However, I was recently let down when I ordered a latte and an iced drink. While they do have an excellent cold brew, the latte I received was extremely watery – it seemed like there was barely any espresso in it. When I asked the barista for a different drink, I ended up having to pay for another one that was just mediocre. This isn’t what I usually experience here! I left feeling disappointed with both the service and the drinks. If you decide to visit, I recommend sticking with a classic cold brew.
THEY asked for my feedback via square and I let them know their “customer service” was “not friendly.” This was their response: “Sorry you didn’t find a friend today. We’re hear for great coffee and professional service.” Velo was filled with great people who were very friendly enjoying great coffee and company, myself included. The staff was by far not included in this. I wouldn’t even stretch to say professional. Glad they are “hear” but if you’d like anything other than a cold interaction with people who don’t care about their customers then I’d recommend finding that great coffee elsewhere.
The coffee is wonderful, but service is hit or miss for me. I usually just get beans and leave because I don't feel welcomed by the baristas here.It comes across to me like they are here to nerd out about coffee and the customers are an inconvenient interruption at least and a complete waste of coffee at most, whether there's one or a dozen customers to serve.I'm not sure if it's simply a hiring and training issue or if this place really should just be a roastery and not bother with having a retail café.The more I experience poor service, the less likely I want to support the company by even just buying the beans, as good as they are. It's a shame because I assume the love of coffee is why Velo exists. I wish I could focus on the coffee as much as the rosters clearly do, not on steeling myself for baristas who too frequently seem to not want any customer's business.
