This local hangout does have the best burger in Tennessee as noted on the banner! Service is always great. Very casual, limited menu, but everything is good. Personally, I love their paddy melts and it 's one of the few places that still servetater-tots! And the BEST onion rings too!
Food was good. Combos come with a good amount of fries. I ordered the Lil Merv Burger and still struggled to finish. Wasn 't too long of a wait for food. Friend 's order didn 't comes as ordered, but was still good. Parking here is rough though we hadto park elsewhere.
Best little hole in the wall around. And I say that with kindness as I love finding surprises and rarely give five stars. I had th Jr sized burger it filled me up great flavor, had our individual requests correct the first time. Them onion rings are todie for! Fries were crispy and i could order loaded fries like those any day. Overall I was worried as we got there on a Fridayfor lunch the parking lot was full and I was concerned the wait would be well... you know. But we were able to dine prettyquickly. Worth the pop in even though it's a little off the main drive. Staff is friendly, I beleive family owned and eventhough it was rush, they took the time to chat and make us feel like we were locals.. we are.. but ya know in the pandemic mostplaces have changed. Definelty a new favorite for us not only as locals but when we have guests after hanging out in the mtns.
The parking is a little frustrating, but it's worth waiting for a spot to eat one of the best hamburgers in town. Stopped here for the first time for lunch yesterday, ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was huge! You can tell that it's a family ownedrestaurant because of the quality ingredients. I'm also one of those people that always needs sauce for their french fries ?not here. The fries are so good that no sauce or ketchup is necessary. I'll definitely be back.
My experience at Merv's was a bit mixed. The fries were perfectly golden, crispy, and delicious, with great seasoning. However, the burger fell short. Although all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, the beef patty itself was bland. I even tasted a portion of the patty on its own to see if it was being overpowered by the toppings, but it was just a large piece of unseasoned beef. It was disappointing because the meal had the potential to be great. The restaurant has a somewhat divey and untidy feel, but the staff were friendly and attentive. My server, Emily, was excellent—she kept my drink topped up and even gave me a to-go cup after I finished without me asking. In the background, I could hear other staff chatting with regular customers, which added a warm, welcoming vibe. After reading other reviews, I’m not going to let this one experience put me off. I plan to return and try the amazing food that so many others seem to love.
