What Dexter Lanning doesn't like about Koch's Bakery:
Just got 4 different types of cake donuts and they were all so full of oil that when I bit in it was like biting into an orange with oil gushing everywhere. They either didn’t let the fryer get to a high enough temperature before cooking or the batter was too loose, but just drove home and threw them all into the trash. What a waste of time and money. The order donuts pictured in order reviews don’t appear to have thi... View all feedback.
So, this morning coming out of the hotel, we found two great places right next. First one, Koch's Bakery where we purchased the best donuts that I have tried. We got the blueberry and coconut, chocolate glazed and plain donut. Let me tell you, amazing!! We are just traveling through Chattanooga and I made the mistake of thinking that I was not going to find anything nice. I was completely wrong, not only the donuts but the people are very nice and friendly. Now, on the way to the battle for Chattanooga, we found a soap company right on Broad St, Good Fortune Soap Spa. My wife loved it! More people need to know about this place. Chattanooga is not only historical, the people who are venturing in small businesses deserve to succeed. I am doing my part, now you do yours and go to Koch's bakery and next door is Mad Priest Coffee Roasters, both small but deserving recognition.
First time at this bakery and I really loved the donuts we got! The cake donuts are a little crispy on the outside but nice and moist inside. I got a salted caramel buttermilk donut and it was amazing!
Old School Goodness. A visit to Koch's is like a step back in time. They do it right. Everything from the cakes to donuts to their signature thumb print cookies it's ALL good!
Nice little place to pick up a few sweet things. Ended up getting the maple peanut donut and a cherry fried pie. The maple donut reminded me of a Baby Ruth. Which is totally a complement because I love them. The cherry fried pie was good as well.
Had a cup of coffee from mad priest then picked up an apple fritter and a pack of 2 sausage breakfast slammers (my own sweet and savory), they were both great. I always go in to get a donut and always end up with an apple fritter. Great quick stop with good people and good food.
