One of the few outlets opened as it was a public holiday, this offers a choice of wontons, noodles, dumplings, rice, congees, and sides.
Go and order at the counter, make payment and collect your buzzer. Once your food is ready, buzzer goes off and collect at the pick up window. The lady serving was pretty friendly.
Sampled the Slow-cooked Pork Belly And Caramel Soya Egg With Lo-mein Noodles as well as Pork View all feedback.
1Ton Noodle is a hidden gem in Chatswood Interchange. Located at the 3rd Level of the District (directly above the station), 1Ton Noodle offers a wide assortment of Cantonese-style egg noodle dishes and other typical Hong Kong cuisines. I tried their "dry" version with shrimp wantons. As my childhood is closely associated with occasional visits to popular Michelin-starred or bib gourmand Hong Kong restaurants like Ho Hung Kee, Mak's Kitchen or Wing Wah, I find it difficult to rate 1Ton Noodle highly (even though I reckon they are the one of the best in Sydney). The noodles was springy but dry and bland. There was little condiments added to the plate of wanton noodles and you were expected to add them yourself. The wantons could be improved by using a fresh whole shrimp and better wrapped (wrap them tenderly, please!) so that the wanton "skins" do not taste partially raw and hard. 1Ton Noodle is a good place to cure my homesickness but I am not sure if I would return for another round of their wanton noodles.

Why this joint only has 3.1 rating baffles me. One can stuff up asian noodles soup easily esp if one is taking shortcuts in prepping the broth, marinating the pork belly or using sub par ingredients in the dumplings or the dumpling skin. I hope they keep to their standard these folks. Got their pork belly lo mein and 1ton soup for takeaway. Loved their pork belly as my cut had the right fat/meat ratio, thinly sliced too so there was not much chewing involved as they simply melted in my mouth. Wish there were more????. Gave them a bit of grief for giving me too little soup before realizing that i ordered the dry noodle (not the noodle soup). Gosh, that was an embarrassment ????. Apologies given and the lady chef happily gave me more soup for free. How is that for service? ????????
Quality homemade wontons by group of housewives. The noodles are a little too al dente for my liking but love the wontons! Nice and clean food court. Much better value than Hawker Lane.
Had it not been for the extreme saltiness of the mushroom and tofu noodles, this place would have easily scored higher. The noodles were delicious, and the mushrooms were super juicy and full of flavour, but I suppose in this instance, a little too much flavour. Everything about it was tasty, if you can look past the saltiness, but I just couldn’t as I was struggling to eat it towards the end!! The wonton noodle soup comes in a chicken broth according to the staff member and also had hints of seafood? It was not salty, it was just a delicious dish. Wontons were great, noodles were great, and a perfect meal to curb any noodle soup cravings. Not sure what almond tea is supposed to taste like, I didn’t really taste any almond flavour, but it was just a sweet tea. It was lovely though. Food seemed to take a while, but I guess that much time and effort was being put in as the chefs were at it non stop, so it was fine as long as we received a tasty meal. Which... read more
