Of course, one might be happy to stay in a tent this close to the sublime cathedral but why, when such agreeable accommodation is available on the Gothic masterpiece’s doorstep.

One of my favorite meals in France. I had the goat cheese gratin and my daughter a quinoa salad.

The location is amazing, and the building is nicely updated without sacrificing any of its historic charm. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided a first-rate breakfast that was one of the highlights of our trip.
