This restaurant offers a historic dining experience at UVA, being the oldest diner in town. It has a classic college town atmosphere.
The restaurant's atmosphere is now much cleaner than I remembered from years ago. The general manager, Ashley, was working behind the bar and was very friendly. The dining room was bustling with happy customers and cheerful staff. It was obvious that the employees truly enjoyed their work, which enhanced everyone's overall experience!
Our friends brought us to UVA for a tour and suggested we have lunch at this restaurant. We were very impressed with everything! The service, the food, and the drinks were all amazing. The portion sizes were generous for the price, we couldn't even finish all of our food! The sweet potato fries were delicious and I especially loved the chipotle chicken wrap. My husband and our friends ordered the pork BBQ sandwich and they all said it was fantastic.
Interesting local spot. Been around for 100 years. Great service, good food, and fair prices. Convenient location with nearby parking.
The restaurant has friendly wait staff and has been a staple in Charlotteville and at UVA, boasting to be the oldest restaurant in town (100 years). Our food was served promptly, but unfortunately, the fries were soggy and the steak and cheese sandwich was mediocre. We may consider returning for drinks in the evening, but the food was not impressive enough for us to make the trip back.
