The food beats all the other Latin food places in town, hands-down. Honduran dishes and perfectly cooked,, tender meats. Carne asada you can write poetry about. Burritos you could park a mobile home on. View all feedback.
What Heather Bender doesn't like about La Guadalupana Mexican:
I work near Cactus so I thought I'd try it out. In my opinion, there are several better places to go for Latin food in the C-Ville area. First off, the restaurant is disgusting. If it was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, it would need a two part special. There are flies everywhere. Old papers hung up all over the walls. Greasy tables. Dusty fixtures. I work near Cactus, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I believe there are much better options for Latin cuisine in the Charlottesville area. To begin with, the cleanliness of the restaurant raised some red flags. If it were featured on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, it would likely require a two-part special to tackle all the issues. Flies were buzzing everywhere, and old papers were stuck to the walls. The tables were greasy, and the fixtures were covered in dust. Everything felt outdated, and it seemed as though nothing had been cleaned since the restaurant first opened. It's hard to comprehend how it has managed to stay in business...
This is, without a doubt, the best Mexican restaurant in Virginia. The interior has an authentic design, the staff is incredibly polite, and the food is simply outstanding. Whenever my wife and I are having a tough day, we come here to eat, and it always brightens our mood. P.S. The food is brought to your table very quickly!
The food and drinks were exceptional. The chips were thick and bursting with flavor. We enjoyed beers and margaritas with our quesadillas, chimichangas, tamales, steak fajitas, and enchiladas. Everyone was pleased with their meals. The service was satisfactory as well.
Although the food was great, we had an issue with the pricing. Our group ordered the four tacos and were informed that the price would be the same regardless of the meat choice. However, when we got our bills, we discovered that the prices varied depending on the type of meat selected. The food was definitely tasty, but I anticipated clearer information about the pricing.
The shrimp taco was amazing! I'm a big fan of Mexican cuisine, and these tacos had a delightful twist. They are definitely a must-try!
