Really enjoyable tea! Room for improvement on the sandwiches (one set had clearly been made a bit far in advance and were getting dry and curled at the corners, and mostly just tasted of butter . It would also be lovely if either tea was fully steeped when it comes to the table, so you don't have to time it OR if they had a simple system for un-steeping the tea so it doesn't get bitter. What Josiane Lehner doesn't like about Afternoon Tea At Oakhurst Inn:
A little loud when we left. The tea area is right next to the lobby where many loud conversations took place. The food is a selection of Albemarle Baking. The ambience was fine, the fire was not started, and you felt as if you were in the traffic of a busy hotel. View all feedback.
The seat was beautiful, and the tee was high quality and delicious! for $32 a person who left to eat much to wish. it also felt as if they would kick us out after less than an hour to make space (in an empty lounge) for the next seats. we showed up and the server was surprised at the size of our party, which is okay she seemed very busy; that was happening. but I had called and asked the day before, if it were in order to add one of our party for a total of 4 what they said was in order. what was not cool was that they did not add any extra food after they indicated that it was set for 3 and they still accused us for 4. the personal was walking around loudly when we had set ourselves first. the saving gnade was the quality of the tees (although not for $32) and tour spot through the fire.
It was fantastic! the chateau lobby bar is a cozy, comfortable room. the food was incredible and the service was top-notch

We were lucky to be the only ones there so got the prime cozy spots in front of the fireplace in the main room. The other rooms had a more modern set up with a view of the outdoor patio and pool. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and plentiful with little sandwiches, cream puffs, cookies scones. There were 5 bulk teas in the selection-all the ones we had were delicious. The only thing missing was lemon curd and clotted cream for the scones. It was enjoyable.

(Pulling out a handle-less hot metal tea diffuser barehanded can be a bit tricky. But overall the food was very tasty, the atmosphere was pleasantly calm, and the service was good. The tea is a very enjoyable special occasion overall.
